About the adventure
|π| Somewhere, lost in the shrouded realms of death, lies a land of endless night where long-forgotten horrors are revealed to those who travel through the mist. Follow the songs of harvest time, and before long, youβll find revelry in the dancing shadows of blazing wicker. No matter your story, these lonesome, misty rails will deliver you to where the hallowed cannot save you. |π| In this adventure, the players will find themselves stranded in the mysterious valley of Wickermoor Hollow, where isolated peoples are terrorized by restless dead, wicked hags, ravenous monsters, and many other creatures of the night that never ends. The Crooked Moon module contains all new content, including 13 Species, 15 Subclasses, 13 Backgrounds, 14 Feats, 40 Spells, 13 powerful Dark Bargains, 13 Familiars, 85 horrific creatures with secret weaknesses or unique quirks, 13 Cursed Curios, 13 Paranormal Potions, and 26 evolving Fabled Heirloom magic items that grow in strength as its wielder gains power. Now is the time to brave the dark wood, beware the witching hour, and weave your own dreadful folktale underneath the Crooked Moon... π LGBTQ+ & neurodivergent friendly π§ββοΈ Character voices π Character aesthetics & storylines tailored to YOU βοΈ Gameplay maps with dynamic lighting π΅ Custom ambient & combat music π¨ BEAUTIFUL art from The Crooked Moon module Note: Many of the themes and topics core to Folk Horror can be distressing for some. While the most disturbing elements of the genre have been greatly diminished in this adventure, much of the content within The Crooked Moon deals with serious and potentially unsettling themes that should be considered with care and caution to ensure your comfort and safety.

About me
Heya, my name's Rae! I am 30-something years old, queer, neurodivergent, and committed to understanding and accommodating others as best I can, always. I've been playing D&D for many many years, and recently branched out into playing lots of other TTRPG systems. I started my GMing journey about 5 years ago but began taking it seriously the past few years after completely falling in love with the communal story-telling, creative collaboration, and exploratory role-playing of TTRPGs.

Creating your character
Because this is campaign is from Legends of Avantris's The Crooked Moon module, players will have access to all of the custom species, subclasses, abilities, spells, etc from the module. This content will be shared through the D&D Beyond campaign the players will be invited to. We will start at LV 1, and I will work with players individually to build their character using either The Crooked Moon 2024 content, or base D&D 2024 content, or a mix of both.
Our Level 4 party currently consists of an Azureborn Rogue/Warlock, a Gnarlborn Fighter, and a Human Bard. We are about to head to a new area from our base camp of Wickermoor Village, following rumors of cursed farmland and strange, nightly fires in the small, tight-knit farming village of Foxwillow.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a Discord account, Roll20 account, and D&D Beyond account (only the free versions are required). They will be given invites to join the Delphi Adventures Discord server, the Roll20 game, and the D&D Beyond campaign.
What Rae SoulBound brings to the table
Custom ambient and combat music, NPC character voices, Roll20 maps with dynamic lighting, campaign art, and handouts will be provided. I embrace Rule of Cool as much as possible while keeping the game fair, and I honor rolls as they are - a Nat 20 is going to be special, and a Nat 1 is also going to be special...in a different way.
Homebrew rules
Rolled Stats Mulligan: If rolling your stats, you may roll 7 times and use whichever 6 you prefer. Crunchy Crits: For critical hits, rather than rolling your damage dice twice, your first roll will automatically be max value, and you will only roll the additional dice, adding that damage to the first (maxed) roll before adding any modifiers to determine total damage. Stun is now Daze: A dazed creature can only do one of the following things on their turn: move, use an action, or use a bonus action. If a creature becomes dazed during their turn, their turn ends. When a dazed creature is affected by a spell or effect that gives them an extra action on their turn (like Haste or Action Surge), they can still take this extra action in addition to the movement, action, or bonus action allowed by the dazed condition. Targeted Attacks: You may target specific parts of an enemy, or objects, with a particular goal in mind, however the DC to hit will be different than the target's normal AC. For example, you may want to target a creature's eyes, trying to inflict the Blind condition, but your DC to do so will be determined as the GM sees fit. If you fail the DC but meet the original AC, you still hit the target as normal. Creativity & Consequences: I embrace Rule of Cool as much as possible while keeping the game fair, and will never punish you for trying to play creatively. However, I honor rolls as they are - a Nat 20 is going to be special, and a Nat 1 is also going to be special...in a different way. Death Save Agency: While rolling death saves, your character can still be conscious and you may speak (within reason). Free Actions: Crying is a free action. Kissing is also a free action ;).

How Rae SoulBound creates a safe table
Players will fill out a Lines and Veils form. We will go over all lines and veils before beginning the game in Session 1. We will have an X card in Roll20 as well as the capability to call or type it out in the Discord. I will be available after the game if any player needs any form of aftercare. Content Warnings: The Crooked Moon contains elements of graphic and gory violence, depictions of mental health issues, cultural and religious conflict, harm and death of children and animals, grotesque body horror, family trauma, allusions to suicide, and more. Players will have the opportunity to express their Lines regarding any of this content before starting, and I will work with them on how to accommodate, but please note that this is a horror game, so not everything can be avoided or changed.
