About the adventure
Welcome to Westeros, the world of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. The year is 131 AL. The brutal civil war of the Dance of the Dragons is over and the Seven Kingdoms are at peace, yet there is precious little peace to be had. Few dragons are left to maintain the power of the dragon kings, and the realm remains riven by the hatreds of the war. Still-independent Dorne, unaffected by the Dance, dreams of extending its own power and influence. The Stepstones are drenched in blood as the mighty alliance of the Triarchy collapses, creating great opportunities for the ambitious, daring and foolhardy. The Seven Kingdoms require bold knights and wise nobles; are you one such? This is a game of Green Ronin's A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying Game. The system lets you create your own house and characters and tell your own story in Martin's epic, gritty world. This game is set before the book series, just after the civil war known as the Dance of Dragons, familiar to viewers from the series House of the Dragon, although this game is based on the books rather than the show.

About me
Hello, I'm Caestus. I've been playing roleplaying games ever since I was old enough to do so. I've played or run 100 different rpgs. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy. I've been running games for friends and family for years. While I feel that telling a good story is a key part of being a good gamemaster, more important than the story is making sure all the players at the table have a good time; I consider that the chief duty of any gamemaster. I run a wide variety of games here and I hope you enjoy playing RPGs with me.

Creating your character
We will cover character creation and House creation (In the ASIOAF roleplaying game your family has its own important stats) in a session 0, for which players will not be charged.
We have a lord who is good at intrigue, a warrior heiress, a banner lord and a banner heir.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a microphone but do not need a webcam. Players should have a roll20 account and a discord account. Reading the rules ahead of time and having a character concept and your position in the House in mind are useful but can also be done during session 0.
What Caestus brings to the table
I will bring a roll20 account that lets me use maps, images and music to immerse players as well as the core rules for ASIOAF and extensive experience running the game. I usually keep a fairly light atmosphere, to contrast some of the more serious subject matter.
Homebrew rules
Players may lower one but only one stat to 1 for an extra 50 XP Players may not start with any stat above 5. For the quality Shield Mastery, dice required to wield a shield are not counted.

How Caestus creates a safe table
We will establish our Lines and Veils during Session 0. Westeros is a gritty, often brutal world, but there's no need to dwell on the most unpleasant parts of it.
