About the adventure
War preparations are underway at the Marquisate's quarries. Refugees return to their burned village, to find a cult has taken the land over. Terrorism afflicts the marshes where the Marquisate and River Trading Company are establishing new industry. Fields have been torched to the west, and rumors of piracy abound on the mists of the great lake. Amidst all this, your vagabonds move; as mercenaries, refugees, or other interested parties. As you navigate each clearing, the world changes around you and because of you. NOTE: This is a West Marches campaign: there is an expectation that not everyone will necessarily play every session, and that there may be different party compositions in any given session.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have worked in private game design as Sortilege since 2018. Typically I run games in-person at venues around the Twin Cities. I love teaching new systems and settings to new players: those who have never played an RPG before, or who maybe have only played Dungeons & Dragons before.

Creating your character
Players will have all playbooks made available to them, and will be provided information with which to create their characters before their first session of play.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a webcam and a microphone, and I recommend using a PC or laptop so that you can best utilize the character sheets and maps/handouts. However, I have used a tablet successfully; a phone will not be sufficient.
What Jordan Peacock brings to the table
My style as gamemaster is very character-driven and responsive: I do not have a set outcome for the campaign, and I prepare situations for your characters to respond to. I also rarely present situations with clear good/bad outcomes: in many cases what is important is what trade-offs your character is willing to risk or accept.

How Jordan Peacock creates a safe table
In our free session zero we will zero in on what elements we specifically want to include, what we want to exclude, and what we want to tread lightly around. Players and the GM have a right to change their mind, so our lines & veils is a living document that will be adjusted as necessary throughout the campaign. During sessions players will be encouraged to signal green (encouraging), yellow (warning) and red (stop) to indicate ongoing consent or to raise flags if there is an unexpected issue that requires discussion or adjustment.
