About the adventure

Werewolf: The Apocalypse is a roleplaying game in which players take on the role of Garou, werewolves who are partly of the spirit world, given the task of defending the world, Gaia, from the forces of the Wyrm, the personification of entropy and destruction, and preserving the Wyld, places and spirits of nature and creativity, from the calcifying power of the Weaver, the personification of stasis. In the far north, the power of Rome has subdued the unruly Belgic tribes and built a series of fortresses along the Rhine River separating lands under the empire's control from the "barbarian" Germanic tribes to the east. Garou on both sides of the border seethe with Rage at the enslavement of the Kinfolk and the conquest of the Wyld. But some Garou have thrown their lot in with the Empire, supporting it as the Weaver weaves its web across the land. Roman Garou have seized control of the caerns, or sacred places, that once belonged to other tribes. The situation threatens to break out into open bloodshed, as Garou battle Garou to determine the fate of this remote territory. But a greater threat looms on the horizon, for the Garou blood spilled here has awakened an ancient horror, and it is hungry for more.

About me

Hi! I'm a writer and published journalist who's been GMing for over 30 years. I first began roleplaying and running games in high school, but my experience really took off in college in the 1990s, when I was introduced to the World of Darkness game setting. I've run one-shot games at conventions and I served as gaming room director for Jersey Devil Con 3 in 2003.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will use the Werewolf 20th Anniversary edition rules, with a few modifications. Players can use the Dark Ages Werewolf for W20 character sheets found here: https://mrgone.rocksolidshells.com/pdf/W20/DAWerewolf_W20_2-Page_Editable.pdf https://mrgone.rocksolidshells.com/pdf/W20/DAWerewolf_W20_4-Page_Editable.pdf A copy of Dark Ages Werewolf is helpful but not necessary. White Howlers are allowed as a playable tribe. Stargazers, Uktena, Wendigo, Croatan, Bunyip, and Uktena are not playable tribes in this game. The flavor and direction of the game will depend entirely on what characters the players create. I can speak with players on Discord before the first session to help with character creation. I can also provide a pre-generated character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should be on Discord. Once you register for the game, I'll send you an invite to my Discord channel. Players should also have a copy of the Werewolf 20th Anniversary Edition rulebook. What Jamie brings to the table

I will bring a host of NPCs to the table, along with intense worldbuilding and character development. I like to stick to the "Rule of Cool" and keep the action in combat moving as quickly as possible.

Safety

How Jamie creates a safe table

We'll discuss Lines and Veils during Session 0. Also, if there is anything that is a Line or a Veil for you that you don't want to share with other players, you can always Direct Message me. I am always open to discussion and talking about what worked and what doesn't work. We'll also talk about using X, N, O safety tools in-game during Session 0. After each session, I'll check in with everyone to see how everyone's doing and if everyone feels the game is comfortable with the direction the game is going.
