About the adventure
Twelve years ago, the continent of Aseon fell to the undead hordes and their necromantic masters. Your parents were among the heroes who carved a path to freedom. They paid the ultimate price for your freedom, falling in the effort and joining the undead hordes. You were teleported with as many others as they could save to a land hidden away. This place is safe from the ever-watchful eyes of the mages, but twisted monsters live here, and ancient magics shift across a broken landscape. You have grown up here, struggling to survive, fighting to protect civilians, and training to reclaim your home. On the mainland, the necromancers have an Iron grip, using the population as cattle to feed their armies and test subjects for their cruel machinations. They have turned your parents, the heroes of their age, into undead generals forced to carry out their will. The time has come; the leader of your makeshift town has called a meeting. We will be traveling back to the land of our forefathers. Soon, we will free the people and face what remains of our parents. This is a dark fantasy game that will focus heavily on RP, with combat being less of a focus, but tactical and crunchy when it rears up. There will be politics and planning as you free settlements and cities. You will need to decide who will lead them and how you will defend them as you push deeper into the land. Will you be able to save Aseon before the mages achieve their goals? Will you be able to free your parents from their undead servitude? Or will your efforts lead only to sorrow and broken dreams? **What to expect** *LGBTQIA+ Table with a zero tolerance policy for hate speech, bullying, or bigotry *An experienced DnD5e GM ready to help new players and veterans alike learn, and have an unforgettable experience. * A completely homebrewed setting with an interactable map in LegendKeeper. * A setting that will adapt to the players choices and desires. * Diverse NPC's, Heavy RP, and Crunchy Combat * Realm Building * Milestone Leveling We will start at level 3 and aim to play through at least level 15. About me
Hello, potential players, my name is Ian. I have been playing TTRPGS since 2016, starting with a group of friends. I decided I wanted to play, and that meant becoming de facto Game Master. Ever since that first game, I was hooked! However, there were never enough friends locally to satisfy my need to play in fantasy land! So I branched out to running online games. This opened the door to so many new friends. Most of my experience is on Roll20, although I have run a game on Foundry. However, it can be very complicated to get set up. I tend to run High Fantasy games in my homebrew world, which is ever-evolving after contact with all my wonderful players. My games would also be considered roleplay-heavy with tactical combat and a healthy mix of politics (of the fantasy variety). I may be new to this scene, but I am not new to running games, let's freaking roll! The amazing banner art and profile image were created by @binwizard1. The art was based on a campaign we completed together years ago!

What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need Discord and Roll20 accounts. A mic of reasonable quality, you are not required to have video.
What Ian brings to the table
From a session at my table you can expect me to handle music, perform voices for most NPC's, provide deep and engaging roleplay, run tactical combat, and embrace the fun at the table. This is a shared story experience with a world ready made to accept change at the players hands. There will be the opportunity to guide communities, build and manage a base of operations, cultivate the growth of the survivors, and command armies. Sessions 0 and 1 will be free to all players. I also have a world document on LegendKeeper for players to look through if they are interested. This step is optional but has a lot of details about the setting.
Homebrew rules
-Drinking a potion as a bonus action. Administering to someone else is an action. -Crits automatically maximize the damage on one die. -Death saves will get more difficult if you have been brough back to life before. The DC for the spell to work starting at 10 increases by 2 after each resurrection. -Healing Word/Cure Wounds Changes Healing Word is cut from the game. In its place cure wounds is altered. Cure Wounds As a Bonus Action = You can cast the spell touch range As an Action = You cast the spell as a single-target spell at a range of 30ft As a Bonus Action and Action = You perform an Aura of healing at a 10ft radius - Bloodied When a creature is at half hp it will enter the bloodied state. This will be announced by the DM. This occasionally will have no effect but usually will mean tactics or move set changes in a fight. Gaining abilities or changing its targeting priorities. In some case immediately triggering attempted retreats or conversely the bitter grit of a last stand. -Bonus Level Up Perks At certain levels decided by the DM Bonus Perks may be awarded to the PC's. This is typically small boosts or skills that allow a character to get even better at their strengths and roles within the group. Magic Items You can tell if an item is magic by touching it in setting its slightly cold and has almost a static feeling when first coming into contact with it. Attunement Change - 10 Minutes

How Ian creates a safe table
We will have planned breaks for prolonged sitting gets uncomfortable. We will have a session zero where we will discuss any questions from the lines and veils I will ask everyone to turn in. There is always an open door if you need to step out for a moment. At the end of a game we will debrief and talk about the session to wind down. In-between sessions I encourage all players to give feedback with Stars and Wishes so we can cultivate the best game possible.
