Decide | DnD5e | A 20th Level One-Shot | Eldritch Horror

Creating your character

Character Creation will take place as a part of the player's intake session for this game. Characters will be made within the FoundryVTT Server that this game takes place within. Characters will be 20th level and have access to all available contents within DnD 5th Edition's Official Rulebooks, Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt, as well as a small selection of my own Personal Homebrewery. Additionally: During each Intake, players will have a One-on-One Session 0 (a pre-play Session intended to discuss the game, expectations, safety tools, character creation, etc., prior to actual play), with stats, starting levels, characters, etc., being discussed or explained during the course of this Session 0. Prior to the Game's start, an additional, brief Session 0 will occur, discussing all players' Lines, Veils, and any other items that will help to ensure all players have a Safe and enjoyable time at the table. The One-on-OneSession 0 is always free of charge. Some games will also require external surveys, such as through Google Forums, so I can best place you and keep a defined record of what I need to keep in mind when running for you and your group(s). These forums can be updated if needed, but serve as a reference for myself. Anything I present to other players will be anonymized and without revealing details.

Preparing for the session

Players should have access to a Computer (desktop, laptop, or otherwise), a Stable Internet Connection, and a Discord Account. Players should have a Microphone OR be proficient with Discord's Text-to-Speech Functionality if they lack a microphone or are unable to speak for an extended period of time. If you need to create a Discord account, go to Discord.com and follow the instructions. Then, copy and paste the link below into your browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Microsoft Edge, etc.). Dragon of Dice's Den Discord Link: https://discord.gg/3W7ut4Y2UV Afterward follow the instructions presented and make sure to scroll down on the sidebar to the "#introductions" Chat. Introduce yourself, including an "@dragonofdice" along with what game and which timeslot you are looking to join, listed at the top of this listing like the below: "Hi @dragonofdice I'm a new player looking to join [Campaign Name] at [7PM EST]." This will ensure I am alerted to you entering the server as a Player and that I know you need to be onboarded as a new player. Afterwards, I will grant you the appropriate roles and onboard you as soon as I can. !!! Onboarding may take as little as 30 Minutes or may take 2 or more Hours depending on your familiarity with the platforms being used and the speed at which you can fill out the needed surveys and the like. Players do not need to be familiar with the rules, but it never hurts to give them a read! I am more than willing to teach and explain things as often as needed! Character creation is done collaboratively, and I will make pre-made characters available upon request at least 4 hours before the game starts. Generally, it should be assumed that players are prepared to create their characters in Session 0 with my assistance.

Homebrew rules

In way of homebrew, we have a small and light list of things included in the game to keep it fast and easy: All contents of Steinhard's will be available to players - Trick Weapons from Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt: Weapons that have multiple forms that you can easily swap between within my FoundryVTT at the press of a button! - The Jaeger Class: Have you ever wanted to play Bloodborne in D&D? Become what nightmares fear! Hunt them down and slaughter them with the cold precision needed to take on the horrors lurking in Luyarnha's streets! - A number of subclasses available from the setting itself - Madness! Often Harmful, sometimes the eldritch truths you learn can be beneficial... Especially as you delve into the darkness and drink deeply of forgotten and unknowable truths... Other Notable Rules: - Bonus Action potions for Self, Action to use them on another person Some of my Current Players will also have access to my existing archives of homebrew, as they are already familiar with these subclasses and items. Still, new players do not need to concern themselves with that as of this moment. Access to these subclasses and tools is unlikely to unbalance the game, as they have already been tested and reviewed.

How Dragon Of Dice creates a safe table

Important: I employ a specific set of tools both during and after sessions. During Sessions, my Virtual Table Top (Foundry), which my games are run in, has a module that allows any player to immediately call for a pause, fade to black, intermission, fast-forward the scene, or retroactively roll back and redo a scene. This will be one of the 1st things I point players toward, and I will frequently remind them of its presence and make sure everyone is familiar with its use.
