About the adventure
A Dungeons and Dragons game of exploration and discovery, with multiple parties making their mark on the western marches of the Holy Luperreich! Explore the ruins and wilderness of the Western Marches of the Verdholtz Manor Exploratory Corps, but be careful - there are wonders and terrors out there, and you are not yet strong enough to face all of them! Intended for somewhat experienced players, this is a Western Marches hexcrawl - multiple groups will be exploring unknown territories, looking for opportunities to enrich the town of Verdholtz and it's inhabitants with trade, ancient treasure unearthed from the ruins of the old Ionian Republic, and new allies. But the wilderness is also full of monsters and mayhem, not all of which your characters are immediately equipped to handle! Takes place in my original fantasy Age of Sail setting, The Wonders of Mundus, in the German-inspired region called the Ionicsreich.

About me
Championing indie RPGs since at least 2004! I've been doing tabletop since I could roll a die, and I'm here to run dramatic, character-driven campaigns - particularly anime inspired games.

Creating your character
Starting characters in this campaign will be 3rd level (or the lowest level achieved by the current players). I will also have a stable of preconstructed 3rd level characters for new players to jump in with: they can also make their own during an onboarding session. We will only be using rules and options from the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Revised PHB - the 2024 version. I will also give players a setting gazeteer featuring Mundus' unique gods, backgrounds, and ancestries.
Presently, the party has: - A Human Arcane Cleric We need a frontline fighter, a traps and locks expert, and an offensive caster. Note also that this is a wilderness exploration game, and so Nature and Survival skill proficiencies will be borderline essential.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I use Discord for voice: I’m experimenting with Theatre of the Mind play, so Discord is all you need, although D&D Beyond will be helpful. Please come with a solid grasp of the basic rules of Dungeons and Dragons - it's your responsibility to know how attack rolls, skill checks and spellcasting works, and my responsibility to challenge your characters. I am not here to do your math, I am here to show you an adventure! Likewise, be prepared to take decisive actions with your characters, and don't be afraid to surprise me with them. Hexcrawls are improvised by their nature; don't look for railroad tracks where there are none. The rumors your characters hear are possibilities, not plotlines.
What Talia E. B. brings to the table
I will bring the Wonders of Mundus universe, along with my secret hexmap, rumor table, and random encounter table, decades of experience prepping to improvise at the table, and character art from artists I follow on Patreon I will also try to use music strategically and do unique character voices.

How Talia E. B. creates a safe table
We will discuss expectations during session 0, and after every session I will debrief the players - asking what worked, what didn't, and what players are most looking forward to.
