About the adventure

The large expanse of wilderness in Issylra grows wilder each day, local villages and townships being affected by a large amount of varied enemies and threats that have appeared out of seemingly nowhere. You, the party, will be a part of an investigative team put together by the more developed parts of the continent to try and put a stop to these threats, and learn the reason as to why some beasts and creatures that have been lost to time and space have come back to rampage and destroy Exandria's cradle of divinity. Starting at small townships near the Othanzian Wilds and the outskirts of Vasselheim with the express permission of the grander authorities of this continent to quell the threats that ail them, this party of heroic adventurers and investigators will embark upon a continent-wide (or perhaps an Exandria-wide) journey to deal with the bestial threats, and to seal the rifts from whence they came. So, will you answer the call of the vaunted divine authority of Vasselheim and dutifully carry their message and spirit of protection? This is very much a narrative-first, roleplay and political intrigue heavy game that will be catered specifically to those who need to get their fill of roleplay, intense mystery and immersion with the feel of a traditional DND5e game/campaign. If you are a minmaxer or have tendencies to play murder hobos, this is NOT the game for you. There is definitely some room for optimized play as long as you can make it work within the narrative, and as long as your character has motives, flaws, quirks, likes, dislikes, and such โ€” things that make them a complete and multifaceted individual! Having said that, all character decisions are entirely yours to make and I trust my players, new and returning, to know what they want to play and how to make it work within the vision and with the feel of the campaign! Character creation

Creating your character

We will create our characters in the Session 0 that will happen before our campaign begins. Before that, please think of character concepts that fit narratively with 1) the setting, and 2) the rest of your party. We will be using 2014 core and legacy rules.

The current party

For this campaign, the preferred party strength is 6 - and it is expected to be a fairly long running campaign. It is also an RP heavy campaign, so you will be expected to engage with other player characters fairly regularly throughout the sessions. If you want a sure spot at the table, it is recommended to book in as early as possible. At the moment, they are at Level 5 and have just arrived at Pyrrah to rest after a gruelling battle with some rogue lesser elementals. The party contains: a druid/warlock, a cleric, a paladin/warlock, a bard, and a rogue! Note: If you join after 12 hours before the session time, I cannot guarantee that you will be able to play during that session -- but you will be onboarded on the session in the week that follows!

What Ajna brings to the table

Ambient music, memorable character voices (as best as is possible), free 5E character sheets, elaborate battle maps, a Roll20 Plus game server that will have a few bells and whistles, vivid narrative descriptions, RPG safety tools, and a great deal of mystery. As some of the reviews have said, I adopt a "player friendly" mentality, and at any point of time within the campaign, your continued collective fun is my top priority. I never give my players anything in game that their characters cannot handle, and I ALWAYS ensure that everyone is on the same page about boundaries, lines, veils, and general player safety.

How Ajna creates a safe table

At the start of any campaign, I implore the party to set up boundaries and share them with the table, and I invite them to read the "table etiquette" channel that I have expressly set up to ensure that everyone gets a fair comprehension of what one may be able to expect from my table, and what I expect from them. I also link people to the deck of player safety, so that they don't need to feel put on the spot and they may anonymously turn in any hard line boundaries they may have for subject matters in this campaign. This is how I ensure player safety and comfort above all else.
