About me

Call me Oginme, OG, or Cliff. I have been playing D&D since 1978 and ran my first homebrewed adventures two years later. I put the game aside for a couple of decades to focus on career and family. Then my son asked for a Dungeons and Dragons set for his birthday and asked me to create a campaign for him and his friends. I went on to DM for two additional groups who had been abandoned by their DMs and we went on to run campaigns lasting well over two years. A decision to leave a demanding and unrewarding job handed me an opportunity to take on running games and campaigns professionally. The term professional is not one I use lightly. I have read many books, listened to many live streams, and practiced at improv and writing to improve my skills. My constant stream of imagination and flight of fantasy are activated when DMing games of DnD. I continually work to improve my delivery, voicing, and improv skills. When not playing, planning, or creating for my games, I have a small herd of LaMancha dairy goats, plant an extensive garden, play guitar, read and listen to a whole lot of books, study a variety of subjects, and cook.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To participate in this campaign, you will need the following: An account on Discord (free) An account on Roll20 (free) A computer (laptop or desktop recommended) A stable Internet connection I highly recommend a good set of headphones and dedicated microphone to eliminate background noise and feedback from your speakers.

What Oginme brings to the table

I bring an open, immersive environment where the focus is on having fun. An emphasis on allowing the players to contribute to the mutual building of a story, creates an environment where you can allow your imagination to take root and grow. Rules form the basis of our interactions and allow for fairness at the table, while not being limits to your creative use of your abilities and equipment. Our games will be accompanied by an immersive music/ambient soundtrack. Vibrant maps are used which will allow you to utilize the terrain, improve immersion, and visualize interactions. I create memorable NPCs for you to interact with, each with their own goals and ambitions. There will be a private Discord server set up for this game which will allow you to converse freely with the other players and discuss the sessions or events

Safety

How Oginme creates a safe table

We will start the campaign with Session 0 to discuss lines, veils, and prohibited behavior. During that session, we will cover table etiquette and my table rules. Additionally, there will be a deck of cards on the VTT with X, N, and O cards which allow you to stop or slow down the action so that we may work through any issues which arrises during the game play. These are anonymous. There are also means by which you can message me privately in-game and on the discord server if there is some issue which we need to discuss and address. Following the sessions, I will remain on the discord server to discuss the session and talk about which sections you enjoyed or disliked.
