About the adventure
Attempt to salvage enough creds to payoff your debt to the corporation. You and your indentured crew explore the cold dark expanse of space, searching for abandoned ships, stations and relics to hopefully collect enough valuable salvage to pay off your debts. Upon docking with each vessel, you take your life in your own hands as you attempt to navigate the horrors and stress of these dangerous, unknown spaces. Like many roguelikes, this game will be a series of one shots, challenging players to collect as much as they can and escape before time runs out. Death is permanent, but luckily, your ship houses a large cryo module full of citizens eagerly awaiting the chance to earn their way to freedom. Each game will include a randomly generated ship or station based on the One-Eyed Werebear Gaming module called "Salvage Rites". Players that survive will be able to reduce their debt by a share of all collected salvage, or spend their earnings for better gear, increasing their chance at future success. Alert: This is a sci-fi horror rpg that will include elements of claustrophobia, body horror, gore, stress and fear. My goal will be to have you on edge for as much of the game session as possible.

About me
I have been playing TTRPGs since 2019, nearly the entire time on the GM side of the table. I have ran online, in person at home and at my FLGS, and at local conventions. I have ran both modules and homebrew and have realized I prefer the structure modules provide. I started with D&D 5E but have found the bloat of all the different books and rules to be muddy, so I have converted to Dungeon Crawl Classics and absolutely love the freedom the system provides. I embrace the randomness of all the tables and the gonzo wild moments they can provide.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
This will be run as a learn to play if you are new to mothership so don't be afraid to join if you are unfamiliar with the system. If you are new to Mothership or just want a refresher on rules, there are a number of how to play videos on Youtube. https://youtu.be/iynHGCwLc0M?si=3cI1ILILC5babBIz A form fillable PDF character sheet will be provided for each player. • Characters to die. Play smart. Make the most of your time. • Violence to be punishing. If you’re fighting, you’re losing. Violence is deadly, and should be avoided at all costs. • The odds to be stacked against you. Rolls are punishing in Mothership. Find ways to stack the odds in your favor. • To make difficult choices. Surviving the ordeal, solving the mystery, or saving the day are often mutually exclusive. • To pay attention. Stay focused and plug into the fictional world. It helps you and everyone else get into the spirit of the game and have a more immersive experience. • A safe play environment. This is a horror game, and it can deal with many uncomfortable topics. It’s your responsibility to make sure you’re not making anyone at the table uncomfortable with your words and actions (both in and out of character), and to speak up if you feel uncomfortable or if you notice anyone else might be uncomfortable.
What Judge Shadow brings to the table
- Games will be played on custom maps created in the tactical map style of alien and other sci-fi films (Neon lines over a black screen) - Assorted ambient and interactive sounds - I will use voices where applicable for NPCs - Players should ask as many questions as they feel they need. Be specific as asking the right questions removes the need for rolls (For example, "I search the room" may require a roll to find something, asking "what is in the room", then saying "I search the desk" would remove the need for a roll) - Combat and turns will be free flowing. Each round, each player describes what they want to do and we will go through the actions in the order that makes most sense (happening all at the same time)
Homebrew rules
Game will be played Rules as Written with the addition of the credit debt for each character

How Judge Shadow creates a safe table
This is a horror RPG, themes in the style of Alien, Aliens, the Thing, Event Horizon etc. will be present. This game is made to make you feel uncomfortable or on edge for large portions of the game session. We will take breaks at the 2 hour mark or more frequently if players need. Additionally, I will make myself available after the game for any postgame chat needed.
