About the adventure

Darkness stirs in the Old World. To most of the Empire’s citizens, life trudges on beneath the banners of order, faith, and steel. But unseen by the common folk, corruption seeps into every corner—nobles whisper treason, merchants strike bargains with forbidden powers, and cults of Chaos plot from the shadows. What begins as chance encounters on lonely roads soon spirals into a struggle for the soul of the Empire itself. The Enemy Within is the legendary campaign for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, 4th Edition, renowned as one of the greatest roleplaying stories ever told. Across its sprawling chapters, adventurers will face treachery, paranoia, and moral compromise as they attempt to uncover a conspiracy that grows more insidious with every step. Friend and foe blur together, and the greatest danger may not come from rampaging mutants or daemons, but from those closest at hand. From the muddy streets of provincial towns to the glittering courts of power, the journey will test every ounce of cunning, resolve, and loyalty your party can muster. Trust is a fragile currency, and betrayal can strike at any moment. As the net tightens, characters will find themselves asking: how much of the Empire can truly be saved—and at what cost? Will your adventurers root out the Enemy Within, or will they become another thread in its ever-tightening web?

About me

Hey! My name is Chris, though I often go online by Optymystical. I have been GMing for a variety of systems (D&D, Call of Cthulhu, Warhammer Fantasy, Pathfinder, etc) for around 6 years now and have been playing various ttrpgs for as long as I could. I also have worked on designing several TTRPGs, including my own personal one Flow State, which has been in dev for 5 years now. I have a massive Discord presence, managing multiple large communities in the thousands, with partnerships with communities in the tens of thousands. I breathe and live TTRPGs, in every possible way.

Character creation

Creating your character

Once you join this group and contact me via Discord, I will personally walk you through the character creation process prior to session 0 if possible, all of which is done through Foundry. If for some reason we are unable to before session 0, I will instead seek to set aside a bit of time prior to or during session 0 towards the end to fill out your character.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You simply need a Discord account and a computer of some kind. Since Foundry is self-hosted and allows for anyone to join, no account is needed for it.

What Christopher brings to the table

Custom maps, music, thousands of handmade tokens, voice acting by myself, as well as everything else included within the 4-book mega campaign that is The Enemy Within.

Safety

How Christopher creates a safe table

I will directly chat with each player prior to session 0 about what their Lines and Veils are, and I will discuss with them their preferred method of letting me know how to put a pause on content being shown or described. I much prefer this approach over a premade document as this way allows me to directly interface and understand the player's concerns better than any document could.
