About the adventure

A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away… The Rebellion has been a thorn in the side of the Empire for far too long. With the Emperor disbanding the Imperial Senate, all control of the countless sectors of the Galaxy fall onto the Imperial Moffs. And to enforce this new rule of might and fear, the Imperial Stormtroopers. It was supposed to be a time of glory. The greatest symbol of the Empire’s might, The Death Star had destroyed the traitors on Alderaan who dared to aid the rebel scum. Lord Vader located the Rebel base on the fourth moon of Yavin. After the humiliation at Scarif, this was to be the day all those who defied the Emperor fell. But instead of glory and victory, you find only devastating defeat. A rebel transport boarded the Death Star while fighter squadrons battles along the trenches of the battle station and against Lord Vader’s Star Destroyer, the Devastator. Your group was among the personnel responding to this moment of rebel impudence. But in chasing the Rebels off the station, you could only watch as the Death Star was destroyed. With the Devastator forced to flee the system, you are forced to land on the forest moon and prepare for a retaliatory strike against the Rebellion. Now the galaxy knows the Empire isn’t invulnerable. Worlds across the galaxy rise up in support of the Rebellion Alliance. But the resolve of the Empire has only strengthened. And its grip over every single star system only tightens as the Empire seeks retribution. Will you be a foot soldier? Brave but complicit in the Empire’s crimes against the galaxy. Or will you realise the true extent of the Empire’s evil? Whether you are an Imperial Stormtrooper with a blaster in hand, a pilot to one of the Empire’s powerful war machines, an officer carrying out the Emperor’s will, or even essential non-combatant support personnel, you are faced with the dark reality of a post-Yavin Galactic Empire. And the fate of countless worlds may fall on either your willingness to comply or your conscious will to resist. Long live the Empire! Long live the Emperor!

About me

Hello There! You can call me many different things! Gallant, Commander Hellreaper, Morgan LePenguin, Jadyn, and more! I have been GMing for the past 5 years running multiple Campaigns! Namely, I am running a Star Wars Alternate Universe using the Star Wars RPG by Fantasy Flight Games/Edge Studios. I own all three Core Rulebooks and all of the Sourcebooks. I run my games on Foundry VTT, using a Discord Server to talk with players. I have Wednesday through Sunday available for running games. When I run my games, I run them with the themes of the universe in question. Trying to create an experience being both unique while still being true to the feeling of the system/universe. I enjoy allowing my players to shape the Campaigns with their decisions. Allowing the players free will (but certainly not free from consequences!). Being open to discussion to find compromise whenever issues arrive. I like to give my games a feeling of being lived in. Using Worldbuilding to make the world feel real. Giving each NPC their own personalities. I like to use skills I've learned in writing fiction to help players feel connected to the game world. I hope you consider me for your games! And I am excited to share the experience of these games with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create your characters on our Foundry VTT server. We use Forge to host the server so you may need a Forge account. Though all we need for Foundry is a private message of what you want your password to be as we must create it for you and the password is present to prevent other players from accidentally accessing your character sheet. You will also be provided equipment for free to match the role you play within the campaign.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All you need is Discord, a computer to access Foundry, and a microphone to speak.

What Gallant Ascent brings to the table

We provide a massive array of material from each of the Core Rulebooks and all of the supplements. We also provide custom material to fit the setting of the Star Wars AU this and many other Star Wars campaigns are set in. We have access to all relevant rulebooks can help both new and veteran players find whatever they are looking for with ease. We often play by how rules are written, but we understand that strict rules following is not always inductive of fun gameplay and in special moments may allow for some amount of rule-bending at the GM’s discretion. We also provide a few custom or altered rules to make gameplay more convenient overall. Due to the nature of the Genesys Dice System, we encourage our players (especially newer players) to consider focusing on the narratives of their characters rather than a strict adherence to mechanical prowess as this system can play a bit off when trying to focus on pure stats instead of reflecting what sort of story you want with the capabilities and strengths of your character. But sometimes having a bit more health or a cool move can be just as rewarding.

How Gallant Ascent creates a safe table

We will hold a free session 0 to ensure all players are heard and are able to express their needs and concerns. Likewise, after the game has begun, we offer players the ability to interrupt a session to express discomfort at a certain subject and we also have player resources councillor ready to help you with any of your needs should the GM be unavailable.
