About the adventure
In the land of Crowblood, all who serve the Carrion Queen fight whether or not they live to see the end of the battle. The living fight until they die, and the dead are given unlife to keep going until destroyed. The legions of the Carrion Queen rush endlessly out of the Citadel against deadly forces that use the power of their gods to crush the undead and powerful warriors who devastate swaths of your comrades while burning with the awful heat of the sun. They call you the Dark Legion, but you will not fall for the propaganda of the enemy. They are the ones who seek to destroy your homeland, your queen! They are evil! So why do they weep over their fallen comrades? Why do they show mercy? Why do they try to negotiate with the living of your armies? Are we the baddies? This Daggerheart Tale spotlights you who find yourselves on the wrong side of an endless war. You, who may yet become heroes as you realize that you may have been lied to: this is not all there is. There is a good world out there. There is hope. Can you find it?

Creating your character
Characters begin at level 1. You will eventually become heroes, but understand that this story is a tale of basically "The Bad Guy's Minions realize they're the bad guys and switch sides at some point." So feel free to play with a bit of the dark comedy of villains who don't know they're villains. Depending on the party this could be super dark or saturday morning cartoon. Kind of on that spectrum.
