About the adventure
A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away… For nearly a thousand years the Jedi Knights have protected the people of the Republic. But on the Rim, where pirate gangs, crime syndicates, warlords, and mega-corporations rule, one force stands as prevailers of justice and honor, the Mandalorians. Since the days of the ancient wars, the Mandalorians have become the stuff of legends and tales from which inspire generations. Though a new era for Mandalore rises, borne of a desire for peace, a few still hold to the way of the Mandalore. These Mandalorians take the title of the True Mandalorians. Becoming bounty hunters, mercenaries, wondering ronin, and more to seek out a worthy test of their skill and to live the life of their code. However, a darkness is brewing in the shadowy depths of the galaxy. Weapons manufacturers such as BlasTech and Merr-Sonn, droid makers like Baktoid and the Collicoid Creation Nest, and ship manufacturers such as Santhe Industries and even MandalMotors see a massive and unexpected boom in sales and outside investments. Planetary conflicts spread across the galaxy with increasing regulatory such as on Agamar, Yinchorr, and Kalee. Pirates grow bolder, striking at Republic freighters and civilian corvettes. And the mega-corporations like the Trade Federation, Corporate Alliance, and InterGalactic Banking Clan strangle trade and industry from the Expansion Region to the edges of the Outer Rim. Even on Mandalore, tensions rise. As a new group calling itself, Death Watch, bomb the Tracyn Tyatr monument in Sundari. A monument that once stood for Manda’lor the Liberator’s alliance with the Jedi against the Sith a thousand years ago; now a smouldering ruin in the shape of the Shriek-Hawk of Clan Vizsla. From the ruins a prerecorded message made by Tor Vizsla, calling for a reclamation of Mandalorian society and culture and the beginning of a third galactic crusade. You are warriors of the True Mandalorians. And with this threat to the homeworld of your people, how you respond to the threat of civil war is up to you. The fate of Mandalore is in your hands. Darasuum kote, Mando.

About me
Hello There! You can call me many different things! Gallant, Commander Hellreaper, Morgan LePenguin, Jadyn, and more! I have been GMing for the past 5 years running multiple Campaigns! Namely, I am running a Star Wars Alternate Universe using the Star Wars RPG by Fantasy Flight Games/Edge Studios. I own all three Core Rulebooks and all of the Sourcebooks. I run my games on Foundry VTT, using a Discord Server to talk with players. I have Wednesday through Sunday available for running games. When I run my games, I run them with the themes of the universe in question. Trying to create an experience being both unique while still being true to the feeling of the system/universe. I enjoy allowing my players to shape the Campaigns with their decisions. Allowing the players free will (but certainly not free from consequences!). Being open to discussion to find compromise whenever issues arrive. I like to give my games a feeling of being lived in. Using Worldbuilding to make the world feel real. Giving each NPC their own personalities. I like to use skills I've learned in writing fiction to help players feel connected to the game world. I hope you consider me for your games! And I am excited to share the experience of these games with you!

Creating your character
We will create your characters on our Foundry VTT server. We use Forge to host the server so you may need a Forge account. Though all we need for Foundry is a private message of what you want your password to be as we must create it for you and the password is present to prevent other players from accidentally accessing your character sheet. We will be using the options from both Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion. If you do not have the core rule books or supplement books, that is fine! We have each career and specialisation already imputed into Foundry for your convenience. And any material you don’t personally have access to we provide freely within Foundry. Once you join our discord server, please inform the server owner (users with the purple user names, they are the same person) of which campaign you are joining as we have many games running. Once you are given the relevant roles to access the Campaign chat, you can schedule a time to create your character with the GM. If you join after the game begins, you will be granted additional XP to help level you with the rest of the party. There are a few homebrew rules in place that are campaign specific such as: you will receive the Death Watch Commando Universal Specialisation for free at the start of the game, you get a rank in all four specialisation skills instead of two, you will receive free Mandalorian Armor and one type of Mandalorian weaponry of your choice within reason free of cost.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is Discord, a computer to access Foundry, and a microphone to speak.
What Gallant Ascent brings to the table
We provide a massive array of material from each of the Core Rulebooks and all of the supplements. We also provide custom material to fit the setting of the Star Wars AU this and many other Star Wars campaigns are set in. We have access to all relevant rulebooks can help both new and veteran players find whatever they are looking for with ease. We often play by how rules are written, but we understand that strict rules following is not always inductive of fun gameplay and in special moments may allow for some amount of rule-bending at the GM’s discretion. We also provide a few custom or altered rules to make gameplay more convenient overall. Due to the nature of the Genesys Dice System, we encourage our players (especially newer players) to consider focusing on the narratives of their characters rather than a strict adherence to mechanical prowess as this system can play a bit off when trying to focus on pure stats instead of reflecting what sort of story you want with the capabilities and strengths of your character. But sometimes having a bit more health or a cool move can be just as rewarding.

How Gallant Ascent creates a safe table
We will hold a free session 0 to ensure all players are heard and are able to express their needs and concerns. Likewise, after the game has begun, we offer players the ability to interrupt a session to express discomfort at a certain subject and we also have player resources councillor ready to help you with any of your needs should the GM be unavailable.
