About the adventure
Welcome to Picea Pindar, jewel of the empire and throne of a tyrant. Behind its towering walls lies a city divided: noble courts dripping with wealth, markets brimming with trade, and sixteen wards of the Outer Circle where the poor struggle to survive. It is here, in the crowded alleys and shadowed taverns, that the true heartbeat of the capital can be found—and where law and chaos battle for the city’s soul. In Crime & Chaos, you choose your path. Will you rise through the ranks of a criminal syndicate, pulling off daring heists, running smuggling routes, and carving out territory in a city that feeds on vice? Or will you swear the badge of Khan’s enforcers, chasing thieves into their hideouts, rooting out corruption among your own ranks, and deciding how much justice is worth in a world built on lies? Perhaps you’ll find yourself caught between the two—an informant, a double agent, or a reluctant hero navigating the razor’s edge between crime and law. This is a sandbox campaign where every choice matters. Each ward of the Outer Circle is a living neighborhood, filled with colorful characters, dangerous factions, and secrets waiting to be uncovered. Your actions ripple through the city—helping a soup kitchen could spark rebellion, while siding with a gang might bring a rival syndicate crashing down. Tension builds session by session as the balance of power shifts, until at last, the streets erupt in open war and the fate of Picea Pindar rests on the choices you’ve made. Crime & Chaos is for players who love intrigue, moral grayness, and high-stakes storytelling. Whether you prefer careful planning and roleplay, fast-paced action and heists, or the challenge of leading a movement against impossible odds, this campaign invites you to shape a city on the brink. Truth has teeth. Welcome to the feast.

Creating your character
Character Creation We’ll create characters together during Session 0 so everyone starts on the same page and has time to connect their stories to the city and campaign themes. Level: Characters start at Level 3. Stats: We’ll be using rolled stats together on the server to keep things fair and fun. Books: The Player’s Handbook (2024) is the core reference. Other official 5e material is welcome, and any homebrew will be discussed together during Session 0. Equipment: Start with the standard equipment from your class and background. Anything extra can be acquired once play begins. Session 0 will also cover character origins, factions, and personal goals, so you don’t need to prepare those ahead of time—just bring your ideas and we’ll shape them into the story together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Preparation Before we begin, please make sure you’re set up with the following: Join the Discord server – All coordination, dice rolling, and voice chat will happen there. Create your character – We’ll roll stats together on the server during Session 0. Bring any class/race ideas you’d like to explore. Have the rules handy – A copy of the Player’s Handbook (2024) is recommended, either physical or digital. Tech setup – A stable internet connection, microphone, and headphones are required for smooth play. A webcam is optional but welcome. Optional tools – If you like digital sheets, D&D Beyond or your favorite character sheet app will work fine. Otherwise, a pen and paper is just as good. That’s it! Come to Session 0 ready to roll dice, build your character, and dive into the streets of Picea Pindar.
What Pacts & Polyhedrals - Asmo brings to the table
What I Provide My Players I strive to create immersive, story-driven games where every player feels seen and valued. My table is a collaborative space — your characters, choices, and creativity directly shape the unfolding narrative. 🎭 Storytelling & Atmosphere Character Voices: Expect a variety of accents and tones for NPCs to help bring the world alive. I’m not a professional voice actor, but I commit to giving each character distinct personality and energy. Music & Ambience: I use ambient soundscapes and thematic music to set the mood — from tense dungeon crawls to whimsical taverns. ⚔️ Playstyle & Rules Combat: I balance tactical encounters with cinematic flair. Combat will be meaningful, but I’ll keep things moving so nobody is waiting too long between turns. Rule of Cool vs RAW: My approach is “Rules Light.” I’ll honor the system’s mechanics but happily bend or improvise if it serves the fun, the drama, or the story. Player Agency: Choices matter. I’ll never railroad you into one outcome — your decisions ripple into the world, sometimes in unexpected ways. GM Style Tone: I love weaving together mystery, magic, and moral dilemmas. My stories often blend mythic grandeur with very human struggles. Player Support: I encourage creative solutions, character backstory integration, and roleplay moments. Everyone gets spotlight time. Safety & Comfort: I use session zero, lines & veils, and open communication to make sure the table feels safe, respectful, and inclusive. In short: You can expect a game that’s immersive, collaborative, character-driven, and full of wonder — with a touch of chaos when the dice demand it!
Homebrew rules
Powerful critical - max damage Crit failures - lose your weapon or cause damage to party member or self Potions - feeding ally = 1A - feeding self = 1BA In most circumstances you can make a basic skill check e.g. insight or perception whilst in combat as a free action, but when you multitask you will be penalised with disadvantage or in someother way at the dms discretion Potion Toxicity - if you chug more than 1 potion in an hour roll on the potion toxicity chart Potion Max - no more need to roll those pesky d4 to heal you always heal max Inspiration - inspiration die can stack. You are more likely to gain inspiration when committing to characters personality traits with detrimental consequences or involved role play. Encouraging committing to character Blind death saves - no more knowing who has failed a crucial death save! Tension will be mounting every time the d20 roll occurs when a party member falls unconscious.

How Pacts & Polyhedrals - Asmo creates a safe table
Player Safety & Comfort This campaign dives into crime, corruption, and rebellion—intense themes that can hit hard. To make sure everyone feels safe and supported, we’ll use a few tools throughout the game: Session 0 – We’ll go over expectations, boundaries, tone, and table safety tools before characters are created. This is also where we’ll set up Lines & Veils (topics that are off-limits or fade to black). Stars & Wishes – At the end of each session, we’ll share “stars” (moments you enjoyed) and “wishes” (things you’d like to see next time). This keeps the game collaborative and helps me tailor the story to what excites you. Aftercare – If a session gets heavy, we’ll take a few minutes to decompress together before signing off. Players are always welcome to DM me privately afterward if anything lingers. The goal is simple: everyone should feel comfortable, respected, and excited to come back next session.
