About the adventure

This is the very first Adventure Path for Pathfinder 2e, and I have thus always been curious about it. I hope you can join me in delving deep into this adventure together. This adventure starts at 1st level, and so players of all experience levels are welcome. I'm committed to take you from local heroes all the way to facing-off against the ancient evils of Golarion. You start off in a quaint town called Breachill, as you'll attend The Call for Heroes, an event hiring adventurers to help with issues in town. Whether you know each other or will assemble for the sake of participating in this event, is up to all of you!

About me

I'm Rigo, from the distant southern lands of Chile. I'm an experienced Pathfinder 2e GM who loves this game way too much. While I'm drawn to crunchy mechanics, I enjoy roleplaying just as much, and firmly believe that these concepts are not opposed to each other, and I hope that my games can reflect that. In my spare time, I work on the game's Foundry implementation as a volunteer, and so I'm very comfortable using it as the medium for my games.

Character creation

Creating your character

Check out the freely available Player's Guide for guidance, and as a way to tell if this is a campaign for you! https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/campaigns/229200/assets/1008248/Age_of_Ashes_Players_Guide.pdf? We will discuss character creation in more detail in session 0, as well as houserules and variant rules we might want to include!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a web browser to run FoundryVTT on, and a Discord account. Please read the Player's Guide. It's the best way to make sure you'll have a character that is a good fit for this adventure. If possible, don't use AI-generated images for your character art. I have access to the Character Gallery and NPC Core modules, so even if you're having a hard time finding art you like, I'll help you out!

What Rigo brings to the table

My GM style is relatively strict with the RAW as long as they're not holding us back from something awesome. I think there's a lot of fun to be had in accomplishing great things within the mechanics of the game, but sometimes we might want to streamline something for the sake of expediency or to keep the flow of the game. I like doing voices sometimes, but I'm certainly not a voice actor. I like putting on music using Foundry and I'm always welcome to suggestion for stuff to add to the playlists! Thanks to Kalnix, we'll have some great maps for the adventure, despite it not having a premium module.

Homebrew rules

- We can use the Hero Point Deck if you want (a.k.a. cards that you can spend Hero Points to use with little effects). I have my personal deck that expands upon the original. - For each additional language your ancestry would grant due to your Intelligence modifier, you can choose to become trained in a Lore skill instead. - In the case of a character willing to fail a saving throw or attacking a willing target, we will use the Gliminal sidebar rules: “[. . .] You can allow an ally to improve their outcome by one degree of success against a willing target or allow the target to worsen the result of their saving throw by one step.” - Wizards with a curriculum have access to a homebrew level 6 feat that allows them to gain a focus spell from a different arcane school and alter their curriculum a bit. This doesn't mean we can't talk about altering a curriculum without that feat, of course! - Inventors can opt into a homebrew that makes unstable actions behave like focus points. We can get into details if someone does want to play one!
