About the adventure
Welcome to Gauntlight Keep! Above the sleepy lumber town of Otari stands a lighthouse that has been abandoned for time immemorial - but tonight, while you are in town, it wakes up, and a ghostly blue light casts its gaze on the surrounding lands. What does it mean? You will answer adventure's call and delve into unknown depths to make your mark, and forge the fate of the world around you. Whether you decide to solve the mysteries of the keep and protect the realm from its dangers as a noble adventurer, as a simple treasure hunter looking for relics, or as someone with reasons to seek Gauntlight's power for their own gain; the choice is yours! A remix of Paizo's popular Abomination Vaults campaign, Expedition Gauntlight tells the tale of a legacy of those who came before and the adventurers, reverent and irreverent, who now follow their footsteps. Taking inspiration from Darkest Dungeon, Wildermyth and Diablo, I have fleshed out the campaign with a focus on what it means to be an adventurer, the toll it takes on you and those around you and the legacy you leave behind. ๐ฐ The heart of this adventure is the Gauntlight Keep megadungeon. Be prepared to live the classic adventuring dungeon delver's life with plenty of secrets to uncover and riches to plunder. ๐ก๏ธ The room for roleplay and character narrative has been enriched in the campaign with more fleshed out storylines and NPCs in Otari, the Gauntlight Keep itself and some new additions including rival adventuring parties and others trying to benefit from the Gauntlight's mysterious reawakening. ๐ Your character's narrative is king. A careful session 0 with myself will ensure rich ties for your character to ensure they feel a stake in Expedition Gauntlight whether it is for fame, riches or some other darker purpose. ๐ฑ PF2e mechanics can be complex and intimidating. I pride myself on running a beginner friendly space that is always open for discussion and rule interpretation. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I believe all TTRPGs are more fun when approached in this manner. โ๏ธ I will take you through an unforgettable custom-built adventure in a system designed from the ground up for just that purpose. In an environment and story built for you and your party, you will get to take chances, make mistakes, and push open the sides of the sandbox. ๐ฑ Life is hard; Playing roleplaying games shouldn't be. Your time is precious, and will be respected - I pride myself on giving everyone the attention and spotlight they deserve, and giving you an experience that leaves you hyped for the next game, and great times to share with your friends.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm a professional Game Master and when I'm lucky - occassional player - of TTRPGs specialising in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition and Pathfinder 2E. I am passionate about creating an atmosphere of immersion for my games through theatrics, acting, sound effects, music, maps and illustrations for our games. I find it makes everyone more comfortable to play to their fullest :) I have run most of my games through FoundryVTT and know how to customise an adventure module to make it a memorable experience for any player. It is important for me to facilitate a respectful and warm space for everyone to play the characters they want and tell the stories they want. I hope we can build a memorable world together, slay together and stay together!

Creating your character
Characters begin at level 4 with standard gear and gold for that level - 140GP worth. I am happy to collaboratively work together on character options that fit the theme of the campaign best. You're free to make anything you like within reason, of course - and if you're newer to the game, I will help you with any questions you have. Characters should be motivated to delve into the Gauntlight Keep but we can work together on these reasons in our Session 0. Relationships to the characters of Otari is highly recommended as the town plays a major role in the adventure. A player guide can be found here for further information; https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf Current Party Makeup: ๐ก๏ธ Orc Champion of Arazni - Cause of Justice, Necromancer Hunter ๐ Yaoguai Wizard - Literal Walking Textbook, Scrollmaster โญ Goblin Swashbuckler - Toxic Masculinity is Dead, I Dance Now! โญ Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boost rules are both active.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Bring a friendly attitude and a good sense of humor! For those who are new to Pathfinder and have experience with D&D, welcome! This campaign is a great opportunity to learn the ropes of the system while leaning into some time-honored classic dungeon delving tropes. I only request that you must have a working mic, and if you wish to have voice activation on, that you don't have excessive background noise or are willing to switch to push-to-talk if it becomes an issue. I use FoundryVTT and Discord as my methods for Roleplaying, though no experience is needed with Foundry to start - all you need is a bit of patience to learn, and we will teach. A Discord account is required. Besides that, no software is needed! Some recommended tools to assist in character creation would be Pathbuilder (free), and learning basic familiarity with the Foundry VTT tool controls is an asset, but not required. I love creating stories that I can share with my own friends, and I know you will too - I am running this campaign to put PF2e through it's paces as a system for great mechanical guidelines as well as storytelling opportunities.
What Robin brings to the table
Besides everything you'd expect from a virtual TTRPG module professionally prepared, you'll have access to a shared discord for downtime, journalling and planning your future ventures. Maps of previously explored floors, remaining mysteries and even rumours from other adventurers will all live there too. Very useful for sharing stories with friends, looking up notes for things the group may have forgotten, or even just for having a good laugh about the good times and the bad. I also have a lot of purchased virtual content that I like to use - premium maps that I have made myself or have subscribed to, and my adventures are never limited to what's written in the campaign books. In fact this adventure has mostly been rebuilt from the ground up to allow for much more of an exploration of the Gauntlight Keep and the legacies of those who explored it before and are currently exploring it now.

How Robin creates a safe table
Lines and veils document will be provided and followed. I like to have a session 0 where we lay all our expectations out on the table and make sure everyone's up for what's involved in the adventure, and usually this only takes 30 minutes or so. I have no problem changing the content of the adventure path to better suit people's comfort levels, as long as I'm told about it. If there are new players to Foundry and/or Pathfinder 2e, I ask for some patience as we spend a bit of time on Session 0/1 getting them familiar with the tools. At the end of each session, I do a Debrief that is similar to the Stars & Wishes system - to facilitate feedback and to highlight great moments from the game.
