About the adventure
Raventree Estate was once a beacon of pride and power. Now it stands as little more than a ruin, haunted by echoes of what once was and the fractured remnants left behind. The current holder of the estate has called for aid, seeking adventurers bold enough to uncover what became of the Raventrees and strong enough to decide the manorās fate. Will you reunite a broken family, let the manor fall into ruin, or claim its legacy for yourself? ------------ Here are a few videos that were put out showcasing the vibes of the story, and the VTT setup for this adventure from the Foundry VTT team: š®Campaign: Trailer One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx-oFhWZG0M&ab_channel=FoundryVirtualTabletop š¦āā¬Campaign Trailer 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rStVlLNFvMg&ab_channel=FoundryVirtualTabletop ------------ A House Divided is a tale of Gothic horror and familial intrigue. Beneath the estateās crumbling walls lies a web of rivalries, grief, and forbidden power. While combat is present and deadly, the heart of the story lies in roleplay, choice, and character-driven storytelling. Raventree Estate is a living world where NPCs remember your actions and factions shift with your decisions. This is a 25ā30 session campaign for D&D 5e, carrying characters from level 5 to 10. The adventure is deliberately contained, taking place in and around the Raventree estate. The manor has fractured into multiple versions of itself across the planes, each tied to different factions and quests, keeping the setting fresh while avoiding sprawling detours into distant towns or regions. The game is best suited for players who love rich, character-focused roleplay, morally gray choices, and immersive Gothic horror. If you enjoy stories in the spirit of Penny Dreadful, The Witcher, or Panās Labyrinth, you will feel right at home. All players, whether new or veteran, are welcome, provided you are eager to dive into a deeper narrative and RP-driven game. At my table, you can expect a safe, inclusive space, atmospheric maps and music brought to life through Foundry VTT, and a story that grows and shifts around the characters you bring to it. š A House Divided ā Game Style Ratings Exploration: āāāā (lots of investigation, exploring the estate, uncovering secrets) Humor: āā (tone is primarily dark and gothic, with occasional moments of levity) Social RP: āāāāā (the core focusāplayer choices, factions, NPC relationships) Puzzles: āā (some mystery or problem-solving, but not dominant) Combat: āā (present and tactical, but secondary to story and RP)

About me
š³āš Robin: He/They | LGBT+ š³āš Hello! Iām a professional GM with five years of professional experience and about twelve years now playing ttrpgs, with ten of those being in the DM seat. I've spent that time specializing in RP-heavy, character-driven storytelling. I currently run multiple long-term campaigns, including two tables nearing their three-year mark which are about to transition to new adventures, one ongoing for almost two years, and another that has been in progress for one year. My background is in writing, amateur acting, and improv, and while Iām not a professional voice actor, I enjoy incorporating voices into sessions and continually expanding my skills (Iāve also been told I can do a near-perfect sheep impression š). Iām a proud activist who prioritizes inclusivity and safety for minority groups at my tables. Iām particularly known for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, my comfort campaign, for which Iāve written expansions and additional content emphasizing faction intrigue, exploration, and RP potential. This material has been well-received, and Iām currently compiling a rewrite to release on DMās Guild. ā Current Full Campaigns D&D 5e ā Waterdeep Expanded: Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday nights D&D 5e ā Curse of Strahd: Monday and Wednesday nights D&D 5e - A House Divided: Saturday night ā Coming Soon Iām exploring short adventures and one-shots in other systems, including: -Avatar Legends -Call of Cthulhu 7e -Bladerunner: The TTRPG -The One Ring TTRPG -Pathfinder 2e -Vampire: The Masquerade 5e -DIE! The Roleplaying Game -Monsterhearts -Cyberpunk RED -Delta Green -Pirate Borg Iām also open to one-on-one PbP Duets, starting at $60/week for a base adventure. Prices vary based on complexity and posting frequency, and are negotiable. Feel free to reach out!

Creating your character
Weāll create characters together after Session Zero, though youāre welcome to discuss concepts with me beforehand. This gives us a chance to tie your characters into the world and each other before the campaign begins. Character Guidelines: š¤Level: Start at level 5 š¤Stats: Altered 31 Point Buy system š¤Platform: Characters will be made on D&D Beyond (I own all official content) and then imported into Foundry VTT Allowed Material: š¤Any official 5e races, classes, and backgrounds š¤Homebrew and third-party material (examples include Grim Hollow, Valdaās, or Crooked Moon) are welcome, pending approval Tone Fit: Some options may not suit the Gothic horror tone (for example, grungs). If something feels out of place, Iāll let you know and weāll work together to find an alternative that keeps your vision intact while fitting the storyās mood.
Currently we have a tiefling cleric, a human bard, a goliath barbarian, and a human rouge in the party.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Weāll be playing on my personal Discord server, with Foundry VTT as our virtual tabletop. Hereās what youāll need to join smoothly: š¤Microphone: Please have a mic that provides clear audio and does not constantly pick up background noise. š¤Computer Specs: A computer capable of handling Foundry VTTās hardware requirements. This adventure uses extra animation effects for spells and abilities, so stable performance is important. š¤Accounts: You do not need a Foundry account. Everything runs on my hosted server, so all youāll need is Discord and a browser. If youāre unsure about your setup, Iāll happily walk you through a quick test before the first session. It should not be too intensive but I have had players on the very low end side of laptops occasionally have lag and crashes during game.
What Robin brings to the table
When you sit down at my table, you can expect a richly immersive experience where roleplay and character-driven storytelling take center stage. My goal is to make the world feel alive, with your choices at the heart of the narrative. Hereās what I bring to the game: š Content Access: All official material on D&D Beyond, plus most third-party options either on there or brought into Foundry (such as Grim Hollow, Valdaās, and more) for players who want to explore beyond the core books. š¶ Atmosphere: Tailor-made music for this adventure streamed directly through Foundry, layered with sound effects and ambient tracks via Kenku FM on Discord to heighten dramatic moments. š¼ļø Immersion Tools: Additional art, handouts, and visual aids, along with automation through Midi-QOL and a suite of third-party Foundry enhancements. š Storytelling Focus: Heavy emphasis on roleplay and character interactions, with complex NPCs and evolving relationships that respond to your actions. āļø Combat: Tactical when it happens, but I am not interested in having combat just for combat's sake. Each battle is tied directly to the story telling, and there may be longer stretches and even more than one session without fights at all. Note this if you're big on combat. š Rules Philosophy: I lean toward the Rule of Cool as long as it keeps the game balanced and fun. Creative play is always welcome, provided it respects the table and doesnāt overshadow other players.
Homebrew rules
Hereās a summary of the house rules we'll use. I try to minimize house rules, but there are some I have developed over the years that have enhanced the games I've run, and if anyone is uncomfortable with any of these they are open to discussion with the group: šÆ Critical Hits Critical hits deal maximum base damage, then you roll any bonus dice. This ensures crits are always satisfying and impactful. š· Healing Potions -Healing potions are used as a bonus action by default. -You may use a full action to maximize healing and recover the potionās full HP. š Inspiration -Inspiration allows a full reroll, so you donāt have to spend it before taking an action. -You can earn inspiration for keeping an in-character journal for the session. š Partial Success / Dramatic Outcomes -If you fail a check by three or less, or the outcome could be narratively interesting, I may offer a āsuccess at a costā. You may achieve your goal, but with unforeseen consequences. Failing again could escalate the situation further. š² Natural 1s & 20s -Roll again whenever you get a natural 1 or 20. Two 20s or 1s in a row increase the effect (better or worse). Three in a row can create a permanent impact on the game world. š Spell Scrolls & Unusual Casting -Any player can use spell scrolls, regardless of class. -Wizards and Pact of the Tome warlocks cannot inscribe spells outside their class list. -Casting a spell above your normal level requires an ability check (DC = 8 + spell level). Non-casters can attempt spells using base Intelligence or Arcana as their spellcasting modifier. -Failure will destroy the scroll and cause backfire. āļø Initiative -Players may lower initiative but not raise it. -Rolling a Nat 20 on initiative grants advantage on your first attack. Rolling a Nat 1 on initiative gives disadvantage on your first attack. š Death Saves -Made in secret from the group to maintain tension. -After each death save, players can describe a flashback from their characterās past to remain engaged while downed. š Flanking & Positioning -Flanking gives +2 to hit instead of advantage, for both players and enemies. -High ground gives a potential +2 to hit if it makes narrative sense.

How Robin creates a safe table
-Session Zero & Lines and Veils: Before we begin, we will go through a Session Zero where we discuss boundaries, content expectations, and use a Lines and Veils document to set clear limits. -X-Card: At any point during play, players can use the X-Card if something makes them uncomfortable. Play will pause immediately, no questions asked, and we can adjust content or skip scenes as needed. -Pausing or Stepping Away: If a player needs to take a break or step away for any reason, it is always allowed without pressure or judgment. -Session Check-Out: At the end of each session, we hold a group check-out where players can highlight what they enjoyed, share feedback, or raise any concerns about content or gameplay.
