About the adventure
This is the introduction set for Arkham Horror RPG. It is a small campaign that contains 3 acts, and multiple scenes per act. There are mature themes involved such as: Severe injury, desecration of corpses, cults, cannibalism, human sacrifice & death. As this is an Arkham horror game sanity and madness is a big part of the game too. Players don't need to be expert role-player, but are expected to have a level of emotional maturity, as well as be ok with some levels of descriptive details, and sometimes a loss of agency / narrative. This is because I believe the game is best enjoyed with a very strong descriptive narrative and tone. Therefore this is a roleplay heavy campagn.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there fellow adventurers, and welcome to my table! My name is Alex (He/Him). I’ve been a dungeon master for about 5 years, and playing roleplaying games for over 10 years. I am in my element when describing horror scenes. I'm heavily influenced by H.P. Lovecraft, Arkham Horror, World of Darkness, the fear of the unknown. The malignant and terrible monsters is what I love! Since DND is one of my first loves, Curse of Strahd is my headline and add that deep and dark elements to my roleplay. You can expect a deeply horrifying experience here. If you're looking for Nordic themed horror, Vaesen is the way to go. If you want modern Cthulhu, Delta green is your RPG. Like zombies? Hit me up about the Walking Dead. Clever gameplay is rewarded through creativity, and inspiration, calling on my improv skills form regular workshops, I'm ready to 'yes and', or 'no but'. I'm also now an up and coming aspiring voice actor. So you can expect some silly voices, but I am by no means an expert. Despite this I'm happy to do fun and silly whimsical RPG's as its a fantastic in between and a way to lighten to the tone from the otherwise, more thought provoking forms of RPG's. Hit me up with a private message if you'd like to discuss more!

Creating your character
I have pre generated Characters and backstories for this. You can choose from 5 investigators during session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a microphone, a clear speaking voice with as little distraction as possible. Preferably be on a laptop or computer and not a phone. We will conduct the game session using discord as the primary use, and then roll 20 for everything else that may be needed.
What Alex Matthews brings to the table
I am a voice actor / actor in training. I take private voice coaching lessons - So you can expect some strong characterisation, and a Creole Louisiana voice which I've been working on. There's also generic Southern Appalachia - but not region specific. I use Ambient background music to set the scene as well. The game will be theatre of the mind, and using our imaginations.
Homebrew rules
Rule of Cool, for the most part. I'll do my best to help you collaborate in the storytelling.

How Alex Matthews creates a safe table
Lines and Veils will be requested via a google form I've created. I'll then create a lines and veils document for everyone to have at the start of the session. There is a 15 minute break in my sessions to give us a chance to rest and stretch our feet.
