About the adventure

What do you do when the food runs out before the thaw? When your only ally asks you to cross a line you swore you never would? When the the nearest healer is miles away and the wound in your leg festers? Welcome to the northern frontier where noble houses vie for resources and control and old grudges refuse to die. The wilderness shelters territorial elves and mountain-born goliaths who guard their lands with pride and suspicion. Beyond the Pale Wastes, there is no civilization. Only raging blizzards, a sea of frozen ice and the mysterious ruins of a people long claimed by ice and time. ❄️ The people of Frostmarch endure hunger, hardship, and rising fear. They need daring souls willing to face the coming storm.

Character creation

Creating your character

We’ll handle character creation together in Session 0. If you want help building a backstory or tying your character into Frostmarch, I’m happy to brainstorm with you. Ability Scores: Standard array. Allowed Books: Player’s Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, and Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Character Guidelines: Your character should feel grounded and have a clear reason to be in Frostmarch—sworn bannerman of a noble house, outlaw on the run, wandering mercenary, or an outsider drawn by prophecy or promise. Magic exists, but it’s rare and mistrusted. In Frostmarch, steel, survival, and cunning rule the day.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You’ll need a Discord account, a D&D Beyond account, and a Roll20 account to play. A microphone is required. A webcam is optional, but encouraged.

What Martin brings to the table

I will do my best to help players immerse themselves in the world of Frostmarch. I bring our stories to life with: - character voices, - rich lore and history, - ambient music, - colorful maps, - visual aid.

Homebrew rules

- Gritty realism (1 week of downtime = long rest, 1 night = short rest) - Movement on the battlefield encouraged (No opportunity attacks unless you have the sentinel feat.) - Armor feels heavy (Wearing heavy armor reduces your speed by 5 feet)
