About the adventure

đŸČ Feast in the Forest – Adventure Introduction Inspired by Delicious in Dungeon and the charm of cooking shows and anime, Feast in the Forest is an adventure where you’ll need to heat up your pans and prepare to battle your food
for food! 😆 Your meals won’t go quietly into the pot—you’ll have to wrestle them into submission. This is a ruined world, left in shambles after the return of the Old Gods. Civilization has crumbled, and survival depends on more than bravery—you must hunt colossal predators, forage strange ingredients, and turn danger into dinner. Feeding yourself, and your community, is never easy
but it’s always an adventure. đŸŒČ Our story begins in the village of Hush, one of the last small settlements in the region. Here, you and your fellow adventurers must gear up, face the perils of the wild, and provide for yourselves and your people in a land brimming with mysteries both old and new. Will you seek to uncover the secrets that could save and restore the world? Forge friendships and new powers in your travels? Or simply cook the most incredible meals—ones so delicious they bring joy back to your families? 🍖 In Feast in the Forest, every choice matters. The themes of this journey include: character exploration, slow-burn storytelling, comedy, survival, battling massive creatures, and tough moral decisions. ⚔ So, sharpen your knives, light your fires, and bring your appetite, because adventure is always best served hot. Mechanics: For the game, I have designed over 120 unique properties that you can combine in your meal crafting, along with cool weapons and armor created by me and other creators I support.

About me

Hi, I'm Hex—a longtime GM and former event organizer who's run everything from D&D and Vampire: The Masquerade to Lancer and Storypath Ultra games like Curseborne and Exalted. I’m a highly flexible GM who reads the table’s vibe—whether your group leans into dramatic roleplay, dungeon-crawling and loot, or something in between đŸŽČ. The voice of my players matters most, and making sure you’re genuinely invested is my top priority ❀. My style leans about 70% roleplay, 30% combat, with a focus on collaborative storytelling, character development, and moments that feel personal and earned. I design puzzles when they fit the narrative—creative and grounded, never based on obscure “moon logic” 🧠. Whether you love emotional character arcs, tense social encounters, or just want a group that listens and builds a story together, I’ve got you. Accents and voices are optional—passion for your character is what really counts 🎭. Outside of running games, I’m diving deeper into the game design space, developing custom content and freelancing as a writer. I also dabble in cosplay and may share my work if you're curious đŸ§”. If you're looking for a flexible, story-rich campaign where your character truly matters—grab a spot and let’s create something great together. My inspirations and references from mass media include Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Stormlight Archive, Joe Abercrombie’s series, and Sarah J. Maas. I also draw from TV shows like The Sandman, Game of Thrones, movies like Star Wars, and more!

Character creation

Creating your character

You can create your character on Demiplane or on PDF/paper, but you will need to roll on Roll20 (preferably) or Discord so we can see your dice and results. ✹

The current party

For the party, I will try to recruit a larger party so that we can have maybe even a westmarches setup, where party members can do smaller adventures with each other, in two teams.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

📌 You will need: A Roll20 account Discord Some basic knowledge of Daggerheart — make sure to read over your class and check out a few videos on the CritRoll channel đŸŽ„

What HexNova brings to the table

🎹 Cool custom art — I generate unique pieces and also commission talented creators to bring the world to life. đŸŽ” Epic music — Soundtracks from amazing people like Monument Studios and other tabletop/game composers to set the perfect mood. ✍ My skills combined — Writing, world-building, design, and organization all come together to craft an unforgettable adventure. Plus, I contribute story guidance, gameplay tips, and hands-on support to make sure every session runs smoothly and is a blast for everyone.

Homebrew rules

✹ Homebrew rules for crafting magical foods, armor, weapons, and more! 💡 Other rules will be discussed based on my experience and player suggestions, so we can make the game awesome for everyone.

How HexNova creates a safe table

đŸ›Ąïž We’ll start with a Session 0 to discuss safety tools and figure out what works best for you all. I’ve had positive experiences using XNOs, Aftercare, Lines & Veils, and Stars & Wishes, but we’ll tailor everything to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.
