About the adventure

Welcome to Mayfield, West Virginia—where the nights are too quiet, the radios don’t work, and the monsters slip in through the silence. In this Monster of the Week campaign, you’ll play teens and misfits trying to uncover the town’s dark secrets. Inspired by Stranger Things, The X-Files, and Appalachian folklore, this game blends supernatural mystery, coming-of-age drama, and eerie horror. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity, your angst, and maybe a baseball bat.

About me

Hello!! I have been a dungeon master for 5th edition for over a decade now, and I have also dabbled in other TTRPGs like Call of Cthulhu and Monster of the Week. My primary job is acting and voice acting, so I tend to bring theatrics to my campaigns: bold narratives of intrigue, action, humor, and tragedy. NPCs with personality, accents, and developed backstory. Unique magic items that can change the course of a character’s story. I am a published designer for 5th edition on DMs Guild, and I have experience writing in freelance with other TTRPG content. I am a passionate GM looking to bring my experience to more tables. The comfort of the players comes first, so I always like to start a campaign by setting boundaries and expectations for both myself and fellow players. My goal as a GM is to have fun and ensure that the players are having fun as well! That’s why we gather to play the game after all!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will make characters together during the first session! For those who do not know, Monster of the Week uses a character creation system called "Playbooks". Your Playbook determines your character's abilities and special moves. Each Playbook is unique and takes you through the character creation process step-by-step. The process must be done with the group of players, as there is a wonderful section that helps establish connections with your fellow Hunters!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Roll20 for character sheets, rolls, and maps/visuals. And we will use Discord for documents, session reminders, communication, and the Voice chat for communication during the session.

What Nikos Konstans brings to the table

As a GM, I employ my experience with theater and voice-over work to deliver unique NPCs with dynamic personalities. I live for the narrative and love mutual storytelling. I tend to lean more "rule-of-cool" when it comes to rule decisions, and MOTW game mechanics heavily lean into that style of play!

Safety

How Nikos Konstans creates a safe table

I employ the use of an RPG consent form for my campaigns. As this is a horror game, there will be themes and content that might be unnerving or unsettling, but I never want players to feel uncomfortable while we play. Anything on the form that's a hard no will not be present in the game. If something comes up that was not on the form that you have difficulty with, then you can interrupt the scene, or step away and message me in private to let me know that the content upset you or made you feel uncomfortable. I want everyone to have fun!
