About the adventure
🔥 Unite the fractured rebel cells! 🔥 Strike from the shadows against the tyrant's war machine! 🔥 Uncover terrible ancient secrets of Kaeldor... The Ashen King, a tyrant god-like dragon, has burned your world into submission. For a generation now, the kingdom of Kaeldor has suffered under the iron-shod boots of his draconic legions. His demands are simple: pay a tithe of gold and steel, or be left with nothing but ashes and cinders. And yet, a spark that fans the few embers of resistance into a raging fire is about to be struck. When a new, cruel overseer arrives to the mining town of Stone End at the very outskirts of Kaeldor, a single act of defiance sets off a chain of events that may well lead to freedom for the oppressed people... or to their fiery doom. Forge a legend. Break the chains. Topple a throne of fire. Will you defeat the tyrant - or join a myriad of charred skeletons of those who tried before you?

About me
Greetings from Central Asia! English isn't my first language - but I have over a decade of experience as an interpreter and a tour guide both in English and in German. You (probably) won't have to worry about not being able to understand me on voice chats! :D At present, I run a successful Discord server with multiple tables (and awesome people there!), as well as a few games in-person in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Creating your character
Characters will be created by the group together during Sesion 0, using the character creation tools on Foundry. If you're joining the game after Session 0, I'll run you through what we have so far and what people are playing. We can work out the details from there. I'm always open for a 1-on-1 session 0 to onboard new players!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a Discord account and a decent microphone. Preferrably a quiet environment with low background noise for the duration of the session. The only other requirement is signing up to the Forge (the VTT where the game will happen) It is free to create and use as a player. You will also need to join the Discord server where the game is going to happen. You will receive the link to it in the Prep Materials section when you sign up to the game.
What Sergey Sakharov brings to the table
I'll bring a fully set up campaign on Foundry, complete with scenic art, battlemaps and tokens - everything you need to visualise your journey through the oppressed lands of ! The majority of the game takes place in Theater of the Mind, so I will have illustrated scenes, tokens and other visual aids to facilitate your imagination. Battlemaps may be used occasionally for complicated scenarios. I tend to follow the players' lead in the games. Most of the time my adventures are shaped as "landscapes", with multiple ways to achieve your goals. Railroading is usually not something I do.

How Sergey Sakharov creates a safe table
The setting of the Reign of Ashes is a darker shade of fantasy. Despair, terrible acts of both people and monsters, eldtritch horrors - you can expect that aplenty. That said, there are a few lines that won't be crossed under any circumstances: - Explicit depiction of sexual encounters. They may be hinted at, but never "on screen". - No sexual assault of PCs or NPCs. - Gory naturalistic details of violence will be mostly given "at large". I don't delve into the massive amount of bloody details. We'll go over all Lines & Veils during session 0.
