About the adventure
Step aboard the Ghostlight Express and venture into Druskenvald, a realm trapped in endless twilight where folklore comes alive and every choice echoes through the mist. In this folk horror mystery, you'll find yourself stranded in the isolated valley of Wickermoor Hollow after a spectral train ride gone wrong. Here, ancient superstitions hold real power, and the line between the living and the dead blurs like shadows in candlelight. This is a story-driven adventure where your decisions matter—sometimes in ways you won't discover until it's too late. As you uncover the dark secrets plaguing this cursed land, you'll face moral dilemmas that have no clear answers. Will you trust the desperate villagers who cling to old traditions? Can you unravel the truth behind the mysterious Druskenvald family before their fate becomes your own? Every choice you make will ripple through the valley, shaping not just your character's destiny, but the fate of everyone trapped beneath the crooked moon. Perfect for players who enjoy atmospheric mysteries with meaningful consequences, this campaign balances immersive roleplay with strategic combat and clever puzzles. Whether you're new to D&D or a veteran player, you'll find yourself drawn into a world where your character's backstory becomes woven into the larger tapestry of horror through our unique Fateweaving system. Come prepared to think creatively, embrace the unknown, and discover that sometimes the most terrifying monsters are the choices we make along the way.

About me
🎶 Hello adventurers! Stay a while and listen as we embark on a fantastic journey! 🎶 You can call me Mashby. I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2e when I was a teenager. My favorite system was definitely 3.5e and my longest running game has been in 5e. Previously I've worked as an animator and production designer, and now I am an experience designer specializing in gamified learning. New players and folx with marginalized identities will find a safe space at my table, for it is my firm belief that all people deserve to create and have their stories heard. Collaborative storytelling is the portal through which we can explore the deepest dungeons and the furthest stars together.

Creating your character
We’ll be creating characters either before the game begins or together in session 0. This gives us time to tie your character into the world and ensure everyone feels comfortable with each other’s playstyle and backstory connections. Characters will start at Level 1, using standard ability score generation (either point buy or standard array—your choice). This game focuses on storytelling over stats, so feel free to pick what feels right for your character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord account, a decent mic or headset and some excitement for cooperative storytelling!

Homebrew rules
Potions as Bonus Actions: Drinking a healing potion takes a bonus action, not a full action Fateweaving System: Your character's backstory isn't just flavor text—it's woven directly into the unfolding mystery through threads of destiny. Past choices, forgotten memories, and family secrets will surface at pivotal moments, giving you narrative control over how your history shapes the present danger. Death Isn't the End (Always): In Druskenvald, the boundary between life and death grows thin. Depending on story circumstances, death may result in unusual consequences—lingering as a restless spirit, striking dark bargains with otherworldly entities, or returning changed by forces beyond mortal understanding.

Safety
How GM Mashby creates a safe table
Creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone at the table is a top priority. To support open communication and emotional safety, we’ll be using a three-tiered safety system before and during gameplay: 1. RPG Consent Checklist Before we begin, all players will be asked to complete a private RPG Consent Checklist. This helps everyone understand what topics are welcome, what should be avoided, and where individual boundaries lie. This includes both hard limits and “soft” topics that require sensitive handling. 2. Lines & Veils We’ll also use a Lines and Veils document, which we’ll review together during Session 0. Lines are content that will not appear in the game at all. Veils are topics that may exist in the world but will be handled off-screen or with narrative distance. This ensures everyone is on the same page about tone, boundaries, and expectations. 3. X-Card System During play, we’ll use a digital or verbal version of the X-Card. If anything makes a player uncomfortable, they can say "X," type it in chat, or send me a private message, and the scene will immediately pause or shift—no questions asked.
