About the adventure
Teen angst is horrifying enough. Puberty, crushes, peer pressure, trying to fit in. Add to that a craving for human blood or flesh and you got Monsterhearts, a game about the messy lives of teenagers who are secretly monsters. Navigate the horror show of high school and your own monstrosity as you try to just make it through to graduation. In this game, the year is 1991 and Bloomdale was exactly the kinda place you wanted to get the hell out of. At least that’s what every teenage inhabitant thought. The town seemed to suck you dry, take away all your ambition and leave you with nothing. It made you stay, turned you into a cookie cutter automaton that had a 9 to 5 and a picket fence. But you were gonna make it outta Gloomdale and be somebody. Until that one night. That was the night this town took everything from you. And not just you. Lotta weird stuff went down at that party. And it changed everything.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen before the official start of the campaign. Players are asked to choose a skin which they will play and character details can then be sorted out collaboratively with me the MC. There are 10 core skins plus many other homebrew skins you can find online which you can choose from.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you have a good internet connection, a Discord account, and a love for writing, this game is definitely for you! I focus on storytelling within my campaigns and will do my absolute best to craft an engaging narrative for your character to thrive in, all you need to do is show up and be awesome!

I provide the Discord server, 10+ years of writing experience, and other supplementary materials to further enhance the gameplay; such as NPC portraits, maps, etc.

How Laine creates a safe table
We will have a "session zero" where we will establish both the tone and the boundaries of the campaign as well as collaboratively build the world in which the story will take place. Any and all lines and veils will be treated with respect. And of course, the X card can be played at any time by simply typing X in chat. This will signal to me or the other player that we need to stop immediately and reassess the scene in question.
