About the adventure
The Witchlight Carnival is a thing of legend and wonders that people whisper about in awe and delight, even decades after attending. You remember sneaking in as a child, the flashing lights and fantastical sights, but with it comes a mixture of forgetfulness and fear. Something was taken from you as payment, but what? The carnival has returned once more, and you feel a tug, a need to return stronger than any you had ever felt before. The loss that had faded with time has become sharp and incessant, and you know that you need to reclaim what was once yours.

About me
Hello there! I'm Anya (she/her) and I'm an American expat living in Germany. I have 25 years of acting experience and have been playing a variety of TTRPGs for 16 years, GMing for the last 6 years. While English is my native language, I am also fluent in French and (mostly) fluent in German. Creating your character
Characters for this game will start at level 2 and can be created on your own on D&D Beyond. If you have any questions or are new to D&D, I am happy to meet with you for a half hour to build your character with you! I use the 4d6 method for stats, where you roll 4d6 and drop the lowest number for each roll to determine your character's stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Basic webcams (optional) and mics are perfectly fine! This isn't a streamed Actual Play, and the important thing is that we are able to see each other and understand one another. (Note: not required for Play-by-Post games, which are played on my Discord server!) Please have a basic understanding of the rules of 5e, but you don't need to be an expert by any means! That's what I'm here for. You are welcome to have your own physical dice to play with, or you can use virtual dice on websites such as D&D Beyond or even just Google's dice rolling system.

How Anya creates a safe table
We will discuss the Lines & Veils list in session zero with names stripped away to be anonymous. There will be no graphic gore in this game, as it is one of my lines, and will be at most fade to black. If at any time a player needs to modify their Lines & Veils, they are absolutely welcome to message me privately and we will pivot/update that information accordingly. After the session, we will give a quick recap of how the session went and if there were any shifts in tone needed to ensure that all players have an enjoyable time.
