About the adventure
Forge Your Legacy in the Adventurers’ Guild: An Open World Sandbox D&D Campaign in the Forgotten Realms Step into a gritty, grounded corner of the Forgotten Realms where danger lurks in every shadow, coin changes hands for steel and courage, and no two days are the same. In this open world sandbox campaign you are a guild adventurer, free to choose your own jobs, chart your own course, and carve your own place in the annals of the guild’s history. Lately, there has been an unusual surge in monster activity across the region. Creatures once content to lurk in deep forests or hidden caverns are appearing on roads, near farms, and even within sight of major settlements. No one knows the cause, but the guild has been recruiting heavily to meet the growing demand for skilled adventurers. 🗡️ Guild Ranked Progression – Start as an untested Porcelain ranked rookie and rise through the ranks toward legendary Platinum status. 🗡️ Handcrafted Lairs and Bosses – Each threat is unique, deadly, and ready to drop into the living world around you. Every contract could be your last. 🗡️ True Player Agency – Pick your jobs from the guild board. Ignore some, rush to others. Failures have consequences and rivals might claim your bounty first. 🗡️ Down to Earth, Street Level Fantasy – A world of local dangers, political intrigue, and unexpected threats that grow in intensity as your reputation rises. 🗡️ Immersive Worldbuilding – Detailed NPCs with unique voices, maps and art for every lair, and curated ambient soundscapes to set the tone for every mission. 🗡️ A Living World – Contracts expire, factions rise and fall, and your reputation opens or closes doors in the guild and beyond. 🗡️ Rulesets Used - Players may create characters using either the 2014 rules or the 2024 rules. Once you choose, your character must fully follow that ruleset with no mixing between the two. Sharpen your blade. Ready your spells. And remember, out here, glory is earned one contract at a time. Sign up now and claim your place in the Adventurers’ Guild before the next contract slips through your fingers.

About me
For over a decade, I’ve been guiding players through unforgettable adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. Since shortly after StartPlaying’s founding, I’ve been running games here and I’m proud to be among the platform’s top-rated DMs. That means you can expect reliable, immersive sessions shaped by years of professional experience. I spent years in higher education, earning an associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree, only to realize that storytelling was my true calling. With additional training in voice acting, I bring NPCs, villains, and tragic figures to life in ways that feel layered and unforgettable. My goal is to make sure you feel immersed at every step, whether you are unraveling lore, facing difficult choices, or pursuing an epic character arc. When I’m not writing for my own homebrew world, you’ll find me lost in sourcebooks, consuming every bit of fantasy content I can, or testing out new tabletop systems. Don’t be surprised if I occasionally break into song at the table. I didn’t choose bard life, bard life chose me. If you love Critical Role, character-driven storytelling, and settings that breathe around you, pull up a chair. You’ll feel right at home at my table. And finally, don’t forget to love each other!

Creating your character
Characters will be created before the first session. I am available to answer any questions and make sure everyone is comfortable and has their character ready. Backstories should be written before session 1 as well.
Level 2 party, Warlock, Bard, Ranger, Wizard, Artificer
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a D&D Beyond account, and a Discord Account. A decent mic, headset and computer are also required. Other than that there is nothing players need to bring with them to session.
What Roxas brings to the table
I bring to the table the complete collection on D&D Beyond which gives the players in my campaigns access to all of that content. Foundry VTT a powerful software with dynamic lighting and special effects capabilities.
Homebrew rules
🗡️ Potions: It is a bonus action to swig a potion. 🗡️ Flanking: Flanking confers a +2 bonus to attack rolls instead of advantage. 🗡️ Critical Hits: Critical hits cause the damage on the dice to be doubled instead of rolling extra dice. 🗡️ Critical failures and Critical Successes: If a roll results in a natural 1, it is considered a failure. On the other hand, if the roll is a natural 20, it is always a success and may also have additional benefits, which are determined by me. 🗡️ Death Saves: Death saving throws are done privately. 🗡️ Stealth Outside Combat: Players make (Dexterity) Stealth rolls only when someone is in a position to see them or look for them. 🗡️ Investigation Checks For Traps: When searching for traps, the person checking will roll a check once and continue to use that result until a trap is found in order to avoid constantly rolling. 🗡️ Vicious Mockery or Tasha’s Hideous Laughter: If you use vicious mockery or Tasha’s hideous laughter and your joke/insult makes me laugh, the target gets no saving throw.
