About the adventure

Fear Street: The Shadyside Slasher “Don’t listen to the stories they tell you about Fear Street. Wouldn’t you rather explore it yourself… see if its dark terrors and unexplained mysteries are true? You’re not afraid… are you?” It’s 1987 in the cursed little town of Shadyside, and the streets are slick with rain, secrets, and blood. For decades, Fear Street has been the beating heart of the town’s worst nightmares—a stretch of cracked asphalt where the air is colder, the shadows deeper, and the screams carry just a little farther in the night. Now, five strangers ( Think tropes- The Jock, The Geek, The Rebel, The Artist, and The Cheerleader) are about to learn the truth. All it takes is one bad decision: following a strange noise, sneaking into the prime suspect’s house alone, opening the wrong door… and suddenly, you’re not in a safe little college town anymore. You’re in the killer’s hunting grounds. This is your chance to star in your own slasher flick. Do you love the blood-soaked thrills of Friday the 13th? The twisted nightmares of A Nightmare on Elm Street? The pulpy, page-turning chills of R.L. Stine’s Fear Street books? This game takes all the best parts of 80’s and 90’s slashers and blends them with the Chronicles of Darkness system for an experience that starts in the session and doesn’t stop when the credits roll. Here’s what you can expect: Play the tropes, get rewarded for it. Go into the basement alone. Investigate the strange sound in the woods. Open the creaking door you should definitely leave shut. The dumber your horror movie decision, the more fun—and dangerous—the outcome. Grounded horror. You’re not a monster, mage, or vampire—at least not yet. You’re a normal college-age mortal getting dragged deeper into the darkness with every bad choice. A killer tailored to you. Before play begins, we’ll spend time creating your character and weaving them into Shadyside’s tangled web of secrets. When the curtain rises on Session 1, you’ll already have a stake in the story… and the killer will already have a reason to come for you. Hybrid play. One four-hour voice session per week, plus 1–2 downtime text-based RP sessions to keep the tension building between scenes. New to Chronicles of Darkness? No problem. I’ve got the books, the experience, and the patience to walk you through character creation and the system. All you need is a love for horror, a willingness to lean into the trope, and the nerve to walk down Fear Street after dark. So… do you dare? Because in Shadyside… you’re only safe until the credits roll.

About me

I am a 45-year-old gay male. I work as a Licensed Veterinary Technician for poison control and went to school for not only that but animation / vfx. I was a VFX focus so I can't draw but I can make some cool trailers! I am a cast member on a Twitch tabletop streamed game. I have been playing/running a variety of TTRPGs since I was very young. Red Box D&D of the '80s and into the heyday of AD&D in the '90s. I have played every edition released since then and also own numerous books from each era. Dungeons and Dragons however is not the limit of my system knowledge. I own and have tried countless other systems. My preferences have started to lean toward more narrative-based systems. Many of my games will focus on PBtA systems and FATE. I, however, have numerous other systems I would love to bring to the table, such as Power Rangers, Transformers, GI Joe ( Essence20 system), Chronicles of Darkness, Vampire the Requiem, Werewolf the Forsaken...etc( Storyteller System *a personal favorite*) Even the slightly crunchier Fate powered Dresden Files, Mouse Guard, Ironclaw/Jadeclaw, Wanderhome, My Little Pony (If you are feeling animals) Classic Marvel RPG (TSR 4-Color, FASERIP) and many more. If I'm not familiar with it I'm always willing to add it to my collection and learn it! I'm a kind and outgoing person. My tables will always be LGBTQ+ friendly. I have a passion for collaborative storytelling. I will offer a unique gaming experience full of visual references and vibes. This will include custom videos, music, and references. It will also include frequent text-based downtime posts between sessions. There will be 1 scheduled 4-hour sessions/week. The number of sessions depends on the price of the table spot and the specific game being run.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen via voice and/or video before payment and session 1 begin. I will likely use video for the actual play but you will not be required to do so. I want to ensure we are on the same page with your character and that you are just as invested as I am before I take any money from you! Once you join the game I will invite you to a private Discord server for our game only. This will be basic but can be customized to suit our needs. Dice rollers, music bots, whatever you might want.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I don't want you( the player) to feel like you need anything at all. Of course discord and roll20 will be required but otherwise, bring nothing but yourself and a desire to tell an intense and rewarding story together! I will help make characters and cover rules as needed. Beginners are 100% welcome. If you give me a concept, we can walk through creation step by step until we get you the character you want to play.

What Andy brings to the table

While the price may seem high there are many things this fee will cover. I will be using roll20 with a massive library of tokens and maps including numerous modern sets for games just like this as well as making custom maps as needed. If you want to design every inch of your character's house, we can do it! I will be using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop for custom content to suit our needs. This will include thematic videos that will serve as recaps of the game, custom tokens, art, music, and visual aids/references. In addition, I also have a subscription to a high-quality stock art, music, and video website to aid in the development of this custom content. I will host play-by-post (responding at your leisure)/ downtime RP scenes in between sessions. These will help build relationships with NPCs and also allow your Character to prepare for the next actual play session. These will typically not be progressing the main story and are entirely optional. I like the idea of peeking in on our character. See what they are up to when we aren't actually playing. It helps the game world feel alive and always in motion and helps to pass the time between sessions. Hence the "If you are looking for a game that doesn't stop when the session ends" I enjoy writing. I love to roleplay. I hope to create an experience you won't soon forget!
