About the adventure
Welcome to the mythic North, where the world of humans overlaps with the eerie realm of vaesen- creatures of folklore, unseen by most, but all too real. In Dance of Dreams, you will play members of the Society, an esoteric order of investigators tasked with confronting the supernatural forces haunting 19th-century Scandinavia. Set in a remote Swedish village during the season of Midsummer, this mystery unfolds as townsfolk begin to fall into deep, unnatural slumber, plagued by haunting dreams and sudden illness. As the celebrations draw near, strange symbols appear in the woods, music echoes where no one walks, and something stirs in the veil between waking and dream. This is a one-shot game of atmospheric mystery, slow-burning horror, and emotional stakes. You don’t need any prior experience with Vaesen to play! Rules will be taught, and pre-generated characters provided. We’ll focus on immersive storytelling, player-driven investigation, and unraveling the tragic truth behind the haunting. Expect a balance of folklore horror, tense roleplay, and a few heartstring-tugging moments along the way. Ideal for fans of The Witcher, The Wicker Man, or Pan’s Labyrinth, this game is perfect for players who enjoy mysteries laced with melancholy and myth. Come prepared to lose yourself in the dream, and maybe never quite wake up.

About me
Hello! Pull up a chair, friend. This world is sorely in need of stories worth telling. A bit of lightness, a bit of courage, a bit of clever wordplay. There's nothing like a roleplaying game to draw out the best in us, and also to let us explore parts of ourselves that rarely see the light. That's why I play. I hope you'll join me! I’m always learning and growing, and I try to read as much as I can about D&D, game design, history, politics, and storytelling. I am a big fan of Dimension20, especially seasons where Aabria Iyengar or Brennan Lee Mulligan are the Dungeon Master.

What Isaac brings to the table
No matter your experience level, I set a welcoming, inviting tone at my games. Your questions are good, your baggage from your last game is not too much, your experience matters to me! Pull up a chair, friend. I have a Plus Monthly Roll20 account, so all your digital needs will be taken care of. I’m a musician and an artist at heart, so I love incorporating graphic design elements, musical soundtracks and ambient noise, beautiful maps, and character art to enhance the experience of the game. I think the biggest thing I bring to the table is a flair for the dramatic. I was a musical theater kid in high school. Character voices. Storytelling. High drama. Heartrending conflict. This is the stuff I like. Very much. The Rule of Cool is a very important part of my style. If something will move the story forward in a cool way, I may not even have you roll for it. I’ve been learning that rolling too much can be a real barrier to more important things, like the narrative and the dramatic moment.
