About the adventure
Unlike any prison ever created before it, Grimmhaven is a prison for prisoners from the material plane, but located in hell; staffed by denizens of two planes and absolutely inescapable. But when a chance(?) event causes the prison defenses to go haywire, you and your prison "crew" have a unique opportunity to escape the infernal jail before being condemned to a lifetime of imprisonment...or worse. One night. One shot. No second chances. Time to get busy livin'...or get busy dyin'. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🔥 Beginner/LGBTQIA+/Neurodivergent Friendly DM 🔥 Level 5 characters, dual class welcome. 🔥 D&D 2024 Rules w/2014 and third party subclasses available

Meet the Game Master
About me
I strive to be a place where players new and experienced can come and tell stories together in a safe, fun environment, and I have over 30 years of TTRPG experience that I use to bring these desires to the table. What I want for my players is simple; to have fun, however I am able to provide that to them. I espeically want players who have had bad table experiences in the past or players who have struggled with neurodiversity issues to find their TTRPG "home" with me. I like to joke that my DM/GM aesthetic is "dad jokes and innuendo", but I also strive to make the experience as immersive as the players wish it to be/are able to process. It is my sincerest wish that we start as clients, but end up friends, whether it's a one-shot or a campaign. I look forward to sharing a table with you soon.

Creating your character
Create your character in D&D Beyond for this adventure. 🔥 2024 Rules with 2014 and Third-Party Subclasses Available 🔥 Level 5 Character (Multiclassing Permitted) 🔥 Your choice whether your character deserves to be in prison. Depending on how close to game start that you join, you may be asked to use a pre-generated character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord requires a mic of some sort. To be able to use Roll20's maps feature you will need to access Roll20 through a browser (Chrome/Firefox preferred), be it on desktop, laptop or larger tablet (I don't recommend using a phone browser, it will be tiny). You will join my Discord and the Roll20 game prior to game start, and you will need to create your characters in D&D Beyond (using the browser extension Beyond20 for rolls to occur in Roll20). If you have technological limitations that make the above difficult, please reach out, I try to be as accommodating as possible. I am happy to work with beginners and neurodivergent players in whatever challenges they may have regarding playing with sufficient advance notice.
What Shawn (aka Fluffy) brings to the table
We will use D&D Beyond for character creation, Roll 20 for active gameplay/maps the day of, and Discord for voice chat during the game. Being "on camera" is always welcome (I love seeing smiling player faces) but not mandatory. I do use Rules As Interpreted as a framework but love to use Rule of Cool for "big moments" in the game. There will be background music available for the game, but presented in a way where those that are troubled by its use can avoid hearing it.
Homebrew rules
You may consume potions as a bonus action. In the case of Healing Potions, if you choose to take a full action to consume one, you get the maximum possible healing out of it.

How Shawn (aka Fluffy) creates a safe table
We will use lines and veils to determine if there's anything that does need to be "lined or veiled". We will use verbal cues during the game to serve the function of X, N and O cards, and players have an open door to step away from the game as needed. At the end, I will open a discussion to make sure everyone is feeling good afterwards and, if players are up to it, a stars and wishes session.
