About the adventure
This is a sandbox/site based game where the players actions drive the story and the action. Welcome to Hârn Hârn is a large island off the cost of the continent of Lythia. Lythia is the largest continent on the planet known as Kethira. The technology of Hârn and Western Lythia has barely progressed beyond the iron age. There are some examples of plate armor — though these tend to be small pieces for arm and leg protection. Leather, scale mail, and chain mail are all common. Agriculture is rudimentary and inefficient. Hârnic cultures are mostly feudal in nature. The majority of people on Hârn are serfs farming the land for a manor lord. In return, the serfs are given protection. The main exceptions to this are the people of Orbaal in northern Hârn (who follow a viking civilization model) and the various goblinoid and barbarian tribes inhabiting the island. Magic exists but is closely guarded. Hârn is a polytheistic society. The gods of Kethira often intervene in human matters at the request of their followers. Some of these gods are at war with one another, with the conflict spilling over into Kethira. There are several non-human intelligent species on Hârn. Elves are known as the Sindarin. The Dwarven race are the Khuzdul. These are fairly stereotypical examples of Tolkienesque races (elves are secretive forest dwellers, dwarves are excellent miners and metalsmiths, etc.) The small, malevolent goblins/orcs of Hârn are a constant threat. There are many other strange creatures, from dragons to Vlasta (small creatures that rip out the eyes of their assailants. Location: Asolade Hundred, Kingdom of Kaldor. The Year is 720. The adventure begins...

Meet the Game Master
About me
OG GM and player with a flair for detail and verisimiltude. Its all about the experience. A GM should be prepared and offer the players an experience worthy of their time. I expect players to be focused on the game, inject a little humor, and come prepared to tell a cooperative engaging story. I like to run games that are generally investigative, with 60% roleplay and 40% combat. Occasionally I like to run an old school module. I prefer to play AD&D, 5e or Traveller. I have been known to run some RuneQuest, Villains and Vigilantes or GURPS Autoduel. My preferred Game system in HarnMAster or any BRP (RuneQuest) variant such as Call of Cthulhu. I am not an adversarial DM, I like to challenge the players, and their characters, and resolve the logical results of their actions.

Creating your character
We will create characters in a Free Session 0. Using HarnMaster 3rd edition by Columbia Games. I will provide a comprehensive summary as necessary to improve game play. HarnMaster Magic, Religion, HarnPlayer and The Asolade Hundred article are recommended but not required.
Current party consists of a Laranian Priest and a Journeyman Ostler.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
In order to play this game you will need a copy of HarnMaster 3e, pen or pencil, an account on Discord and Roll20, a computer webcam and microphone.
What The Grognard brings to the table
I will provide everything digital for the VTT. This includes Maps, Tokens, handouts, images, props, and a fun attitude! You can provide me a character image to generate your own token if you prefer.
Homebrew rules
I will provide a comprehensive document outlining the updated rules. These do not change the way HarnMaster plays, but does make it better. House rules include revising how shock rolls and physical penalties interact as well as reducing encumbrance for worn items. Purposeful omission of Medical and Psyche rolls.
