About the adventure
"I've just received word that someone broke into the Warehouse. You heard me, the Warehouse. No, not 'a warehouse'! THE Warehouse. The Warehouse of Secrecy. That one we put the Tremere in charge of to guard all those relics and other valuable and dangerous objects. Who did it? How should I know? How much was taken? The Tremere are still trying to get us that information, but from what they can tell, it was a lot. Yes, I know this is serious. Well, what do you want to do about it? Of course we have to get all the items back, that's a given. Okay. I'll put a team together right away. Yes, I'll make sure competent people are chosen." Players will be playing the team put together to solve this problem. Since this is not a V5 game, the current events of V5 are not applicable. New players can easily join in at any point in the campaign and it doesn't matter what session it is when you sign up, as this is an ongoing long-term campaign. The overall length of this campaign will be based on player interest. Given that this is Vampire, there will be adult and sometimes dark themes and elements.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have been a player and game master for several games for over 30 years. I have a home-brew background as well as a published TTRPG background. I tend to stick with older games, as I am often not fond of the newer versions. My style is partially scripted and partially off-the-cuff. I tend to be tough, but I always try to be fair. I'm not perfect and I do make mistakes. If I make one, let me know and I will rectify it. I have been know to chuck rules I don't like, or at least modify them (and make you know about them up front!) so that they are less unfavorable. I want my players to feel challenged, but still have fun. I prefer role-playing and not roll-playing. I am cool with new players and veterans. I stick to older editions of multiple games mainly because I actually prefer them over the newer editions as opposed to being too cheap to upgrade. That said, I am not above running a game in an edition I am not fond of, but I tend to charge more for it as the trade off.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
All characters must be completed and approved prior to a player's first session. All characters will be in the Neonate or Ancilla range. Basic character creation rules except give your character 20 Freebie points instead of the normal 15. Players looking to play an Independent Clan, the bloodline of an Independent Clan, or an obscure bloodline of a Camarilla Clan must come up with a VERY good prelude just to be considered. Even then, the player might be told no. Warriadors are an automatic veto. No Sabbat infiltrators or Anarchs. Defectors from the Sabbat will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Don't pick specialties. No Iron Will or Unbondable Merits. No Sleeping With the Enemy or Old Flame Flaws. Most Supernatural Merits/Flaws will also be disallowed. Use the Linguistics Knowledge game mechanic instead of the Languages Merit. No more than 2 Dots of Retainers if you take that Background. Lowest Generation is 10th. Highest Willpower is 7. No non-physical Discipline above dot 3. Also, if I can't verify the existence of a merit/flaw/power, it will be vetoed. Your character must be able to function within a team dynamic. No murder hobos or lone wolves. Even though this is a V20 campaign, players are allowed to use the Revised Edition Clanbook for their character's Clan for supplemental character source material.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a working microphone for their participation in the campaign. A webcam is not necessary. If you are new to VTM, I will gladly teach the rules ahead of time. Again, all characters must be completed prior to a player's first session.
What JP McClendon brings to the table
The ST provides blank fillable character sheets upon request. The ST always tries to give each and every named NPC their own voice in one way or another, either through the use of voices or dialogue. Some rules will be strictly adhered to, while others with a gray area are open to interpretation. I will gladly teach the basic rules if necessary. Also, my Discord server has a VTM dice roller if players do not have dice of their own. I am also readily available to assist with any and all character builds. My Discord server also has numerous pages on it regarding the various NPCs present in my game world as well as a section devoted to the PCs.

How JP McClendon creates a safe table
Listed triggers are potential, but not guaranteed to come up. Many are listed simply because this is a VTM game and such topics can be common in this game. Obviously, the ST is not looking to push or trigger any player. Any player is more than welcome to voice concerns ahead of time or in the moment so that the ST knows to gloss over something or avoid it altogether. The intention is for players to have a good time and not be upset by the ST or the game.
