About the adventure

Will you uphold the law, expose rouge Replicants and uncover corporate conspiracies, or delve into the depths of your own humanity, staying your hand and looking back at the critical moment? Will you find salvation in a world dominated by shadows, or will you succumb to the allure of a future where humanity is defined by the flickering glow of artificial light? The choices you will be forced to make will shape the fate of City of Fallen Angels and its denizens. As your Game Runner, I will guide you through a narrative web of intrigue, espionage and existential questions. This game is not just about rolling dice and calculating statistics; it's about the atmospheric exploration of a world that is as dangerous as it is mesmerizing. In the game you can expect a cinematic experience where the choices you make echo through the neon-lit streets of Los Angeles, shaping a narrative that is as unique as the individuals playing it. Set against the backdrop of a sprawling, rain-soaked metropolis of Los Angeles 2036, the players will navigate a world where advanced technology clashes with gritty urban decay. Inspired by the iconic Blade Runner aesthetic, the narrative will explore the ethical dilemmas of artificial intelligence, corporate power, and the quest for humanity in an ever-advancing technological landscape of a world where trust is a rare commodity, and every corner holds a secret.

About me

Hello, I am Kirdan, your new Game Master with three decades of experience running science fiction tabletop role-playing games. As a professional GM affiliated with TTRPG publishers, I am passionate about crafting immersive sci-fi stories. I specialize in writing and running interconnected ALIEN Cinematic Scenarios and my own BLADE RUNNER Case Files, woven into the "City of Fallen Angels" story arc. When I’m not running sessions with my players, you’ll find me beneath the ocean waves, working as a diving instructor. Just as I guide diving enthusiasts through the depths of the sea, I lead my players through the uncharted territories of my stories. Diving, my parallel passion, enriches my storytelling, infusing it with a sense of awe and wonder. Join me on a journey through a universe of mystery and imagination, where every decision matters and every roll of the dice propels your character into new territory. Whether you’re a seasoned explorer of neon-noir cities, virtual worlds, and post-apocalyptic wastelands or a newcomer to the tabletop galaxy, together we will create stories you’ll remember forever. Are you ready to dive (pun intended) into the unknown? Join any of my games and let our sci-fi adventure begin!

Character creation

Creating your character

The character creation phase will take place during in Session 0. Players will craft the protagonists of the story, Blade Runners, uniquely poised to work and survive the gritty and dystopian world of neon-noir Los Angeles in 2036. Players will define their Blade Runners' backgrounds, choosing between different Archetypes, each with distinct skills and affiliations. The system encourages players to delve into their characters' motivations, relationships, and personal history, providing a rich tapestry against the backdrop of the oppressive yet captivating future. Choices regarding personal philosophies contribute to the character's identity and effectiveness in the unforgiving urban landscape of City of Fallen Angels. The nature of Session 0 ensures that characters are not only finely tuned for the challenges ahead, but also woven into the intricate narrative fabric of a world where the line between human and machine blurs.

The current party

√ custom characters of LAPD Rep-Detect Unit officers | √ custom campaign set in L.A. 2036 focused on puzzles, riddles and mysteries | √ lots of police work: investigations, interrogations, interviews | √ violence is always last resort, but combat does appear in the story... and it's deadly

What Kirdan brings to the table

"City of Fallen Angels" story arc consists of fifteen Case Files, taking place over a span of last months of 2036 and part of 2037. Each Case File concludes mostly within three Sessions. "City of Fallen Angels" campaign operates on my dedicated Discord server, providing an accessible platform for players to engage in a story-driven experience. Upon entering the game, players will access rule summaries to help them navigate the game mechanics. The system is designed to be beginner-friendly while maintaining depth for seasoned role-players. During the game, I provide custom handouts that include detailed descriptions, visual references and important information relevant to the ongoing story. Mugshots, maps and other visual aids are utilized to provide a visual representation of the characters, locations, and clues encountered throughout the game. Take note that "City of Fallen Angels" campaign prioritizes a story-driven experience that focuses on mystery and puzzle-solving rather than combat. The narrative unfolds through a series of interconnected events, each leading to the next piece of the puzzle.

Safety

How Kirdan creates a safe table

During Session 0 (Case File #000: First Assignment) we will discuss all the no-go zones for topics, setting the boundaries to the table. We will discuss expectations, tone, and themes of the game in relation to personal triggers and establish group norms, to ensure everyone is comfortable with the content of the campaign. Open door policy is self-explanatory: you can leave anytime, without judgement. After each game session we will have debriefing. Periodically, I will check in with the group during gameplay to ensure everyone is still comfortable with the direction of the story. I will encourage open communication and provide a platform for all the players to express their concerns.
