Well hello! Name's David - SideQuestNPC on almost everything online. Coolest nerd you'll ever meet and, oh yeah, I'm a proud Forever DM. Throughout the years I pursued a career in filmmaking, a dream from my early teens. Character creation

Creating your character

All players will have a private channel on the discord server that is used for several different functions, first and most importantly is the creation and establishment of your character and character's motives and goals. I will familiarize all players to the 2d20 system and the traits, assets, and such provided in the official Adventures in the Imperium corebook. The system already provides wide options and freedom of choice for the players' house and the motivations and backstory of the characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Quite simply, all you need is discord. All the play-by-post action will happen in a number of channels dedicated to certain functions. Each player will also have a private channel that'll serve for character creation, personal questions, and the chance their character wanders off away from the party and hands things by themself. It's not necessary for you to be completely familiar with Dune or the entirety of events that happen in the Dune novels. That being said, for those that are familiar, this campaign takes place in the generations leading up to the original Dune novel/Villeneuve films, that also means I'll be using details and events from the Expanded Dune universe. The Encyclopedia is good and cool and all, but I'd rather have something with more meat and details and the Expanded Books do provide that and are still technically ongoing. It's the larger net for possible interested players or fans that turn to the TTRPG space.

In Play-by-Post I provide a steady continuous narrative that showcases tons of interesting parties, individuals, and schemes at play. I like to also provide occasional audio clips to help immerse the players in their missions. Players are encouraged to try anything (within reason in the universe of course) and I pride myself in the ability to react and co-storytell with the player in the character's journey.
