About the adventure
They called it the "Missing Moment" - that night when mystical gates appeared across the world, showing, to the onlooker, their deepest desire. You were among those who stepped through the gates and among the few that returned, forever changed, from a reality they can now hardly remember. It has been three months. You are now ready to begin a journey that will lead you to the heart of the mystery: to your missing memories, and to the mastery of the powers you gained as a gatewalker. 🌌 Focused 1st to 10th level adventure path. 🌌 Immersive and atmospheric campaign module produced by Paizo for Foundry VTT. 🌌 An original storyline that places the player characters at the centre of its mystery as the "gatewalkers". 🌌 Explore new "deviant" powers beyond the reach of even the most epic adventurers. 🌌 With one of the most reviewed GMs on StartPlaying. This is a brand new 1st to 10th level campaign module that we will be exploring together, in weekly sessions of about three hours. We will be playing through Discord and Foundry VTT (hosted on Forge). This is a uniquely fantastical adventure, even by the standards of D20 fantasy. About me
Greetings, adventurers. My name is George, and I have been immersing myself in TTRPGs since around 2001. My journey into the realm of Game Mastering took a serious turn with the release of Pathfinder. My background in theatre, history, and education has been instrumental in shaping my GM style, which emphasizes dramatic conflict, challenging decisions, and character development. I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with a diverse and international player population, both online and in person. This experience has enriched my understanding of the game and its global appeal. The games I run are primarily drawn from official Paizo publications for Pathfinder, supplemented by key resources from publishers like Kobold Press and Sly Flourish. In each campaign, I make it a point to engage with the player characters’ backgrounds. This begins with a session zero where we collaboratively create characters that align with the theme of the campaign. Each campaign I run is a unique world unto itself. I strive to create a distinctive and consistent atmosphere for each one, whether it’s the dark and grim tone of a horror campaign or the epic battles of a high fantasy adventure. Some campaigns may include unique mechanics tailored to their theme. My games, even when played remotely online, aim to emulate the feel of a traditional tabletop experience as much as possible. I prefer to keep technology from overwhelming the gameplay, allowing us to focus on the human elements of the game - the people around our virtual table. I am always available to answer questions through this site. If you have any doubts before signing up for a session, please contact me. I am always eager to hear from established parties who are looking for a new GM. Whether you have already been gaming together, or you are a group of friends, coworkers, or a family group, I would love to embark on an adventure with you. I am also open to requests from existing/ongoing groups for a specific campaign for your party. Whether you have a published module in mind or just an idea that you’d like to develop, I’m here to help you play the game you want to play! Remember, the essence of tabletop gaming is to have fun and create memorable stories together. Let’s roll the dice!

Creating your character
Players should familiarise themselves with the Players' Guide specific to the Adventure Path published by Paizo, which includes unique "rare" backgrounds that tie the characters to the story. Players are expected to choose one of these backgrounds - this is what makes a normal Pathfinder character into a "gatewalker". Character creation should be completed before our first meeting together in consultation with the GM. During our session zero we will discuss how these characters came together.
Brand new party! Have a look at the free players' guide from Paizo for information about the setting: https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6si7s?Introducing-the-Gatewalkers-Player-s-Guide
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A good quality microphone (preferably a headset) is required to use Discord. I also strongly encourage players to use video during games. Games using video conferencing are usually more enjoyable for all parties, as video prevents misunderstandings and miscommunication. In addition you will need (free) accounts for Discord and Forge - the site hosting our Foundry VTT session.
What George brings to the table
All handouts, maps, art, and character-building resources will be provided electronicaly either through Foundry or Discord.
Homebrew rules
We will be using the Gradual Ability Boost optional rule. The adventure has unique rare backgrounds for the "Gatewalkers", available in the free Players' Guide.

How George creates a safe table
In this adventure, the players take on the role of "gatewalkers" - unique individuals transformed by their experience with the ancient elven gates that were recently mysteriously awakened. While the game is set in a classic high fantasy setting, the player characters resemble super-heroes in many ways more than classic high fantasy adventurers. In addition, exploring the mystery of that unique event is the key motivation of the adventure, rather than the usual virtuous crusade of most Pathfinder APs. During our first session together we will use a tool called Lines & Veils to set our own limits on what kind of content we are and are not comfortable with seeing included in our adventures. While the adventure path itself doesn't come with any extraordinary content warnings, the central mystery does involve elements of memory loss and memory manipulation, and expects players to opt in to these tropes, as well as to the "backlash" of some of the extraordinary abilities they develop during the adventure. Any language or behaviour that makes other players feel unsafe or unwelcome at the table will not be tolerated.
