About the adventure

A world on the brink of cataclysm, with the only thing preventing total disaster a shadow of civility between all the kingdoms. With the gods decree forcing mortals to abandon war being the cornerstone of this shadow to prevent the rise of power of the Ungods the world plunged into a cold war, new ways of settling disputes rose but still secrecy and sabotage tend to rise above all others. With the dangers of cults, abominations and beings of the Penumbral Plane threatening to spew forth with the Ungods corruption, noble souls are needed, especially with the age of Legends having passed. This is what leads out adventurers to their current path, receiving a invitation to a art gallery where a plethora of nobles, diplomats and faction agents meet to discuss and deliberate on how to maintain the status quo even as the world dangles on a knife-edge...its just a matter of what begins to tilt it to ruination.

About me

I have a lot of hosting experience with Pathfinder 1e and Pathfinder 2e as well as Dungeons and Dragons 5e and Daggerheart. I favour heavy roleplay but it goes without saying that combat can also be really enjoyable. Generally my overall goal is that everyone has fun while playing, experiencing gripping stories, having fun and seeing how the players actions impact the world and the people around them. So more than anything, I want everyone to have a blast. That being said if there are issues that arise between players I try to play the neutral party and mediate, while I don't like kicking out players I will if their continued presence would hurt the game and the experience of others.

Character creation

Creating your character

When it comes to character creation ideally we can keep in communication and i can answer questions as you figure out what you might want to play. Characters start at level 3 from the get go and gain a free ability based on their backstory to add a lil bit of extra flavour and meaning to their journeys prior to the campaign's beginning. During session 0 we will roll for stats with a formula that generally offers a higher starting base compared to point buy. You get to roll 2 sets of stats and chose between the two and then distribute stats how you will, if your not happy with ether you can have me roll a 3rd set but your stuck with it then. Please remember that having a bad stat or two isn't the end of the world and might make your characters struggles and deeds that much more valuable and important. The setting of Tanares is quite unique and i possess the books and will pull out all the needed information from it both regarding lore and new classes & subclasses for your access.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a roll20 account & a discord account. Anything else you might be interested in regarding the setting i will provide and be more then glad to verbally discuss over discord.

What Mia brings to the table

I use roll20, custom maps, tokens, images, music, doing voices and generally try and create a memorable experience for any that participate in my campaigns. Im a very improve based DM, so i tend to adapt to what the players are doing, combat is generally tactical and has neat mechanics to shake things up. Between Rule of Cool and Rules as Written, i land a lil bit towards the written part, meaning i tend to allow cool things to happen, but generally find some kind of rule or something to base that thing off so it makes sense.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion is a bonus action. There will be special abilities provided to characters based on backstory. A character can only be brought back to life 3 times (This does not account for the use of the Revivify spell.)

Safety

How Mia creates a safe table

I do my best to make the world believable and alive, as such roleplay is one of its major concepts and each action you take will effect others, be it their relationship towards you or their lives in the long run. Combat will happen and is somewhat deadly, some fights are better to be abandoned then fought and you must make tough decisions at times.
