About the adventure
The Expedition to the Silver Kingdoms' Ruins In the war-torn world of Roshar, where storms rage and honor is hard-won, your story begins. You are not yet heroes, but you are part of something greater. Living in a warcamp at the edge of the Shattered Plains, a vast expanse of chasms and plateaus, you find yourself amidst soldiers and scholars loyal to Highprince Sadeas. A few days ago, a highstorm revealed ancient ruins, remnants of the legendary Silver Kingdoms. Now, you are part of an expedition sent to uncover the secrets buried within the barren stone. The journey is fraught with danger, but the promise of discovery drives you forward. As you traverse the desolate landscape, the air crackles with anticipation. The ruins loom ahead, a testament to a bygone era. What mysteries will you uncover? What challenges will you face? The path to heroism is paved with trials, and your adventure is just beginning.

About me
An experienced GM who loves shared story telling roleplaying games where the players create the story along with the GM and I just guide us all to the best story experience possible. I've been a GM and Player for over 30 years, played many systems across all genres but have now settled on Dungeons and Dragons 5E for Fantasy and Call of Cthulhu for Horror. I run everything from one shots to introduce players to a system to full blown campaigns taking players from meeting each other to battling world-ending events. Because I do a lot of introduction games I ensure that every player feels included, is involved in the game and progresses both their characters and themselves as a player.

Creating your character
For this introductory adventure pre-generated characters will be available. Information on the characters will be available before the game. If you'd rather roll your own character please discuss via messaging as early as possible. Onboarding and character selection will be done via Discord prior to the session or during the first 30 minutes of the session for those who don't join Discord.

Preparing for the session
Please sign-up for a free account on Alchemy (https://app.alchemyrpg.com/). Video and audio will be available on Alchemy, the GM will use video but it is optional for players, audio is required for everyone. You'll also receive an invite to my Discord server to help with onboarding and any questions. This is optional, questions can also be asked via StartPlayingGames messaging.

How Paul Maloney creates a safe table
Ensuring that all players feel safe and comfortable is a top priority for me. Here’s how I achieve that: 1. Lines and Veils: Alchemy allows players to add their own Lines and Veils directly. Additionally, we will discuss these over messaging if a player needs more details. This helps create a respectful and enjoyable environment for all. 2. Safety Tools: We will use the built-in X Cards in the Alchemy system to communicate comfort levels during our sessions. If something makes you uncomfortable, you can use the X Card to stop the scene immediately. 3. Aftercare: After each session, I will check in with everyone to see how they felt about the game. This is a chance to discuss any issues that arose and ensure everyone is feeling good about the experience. Your feedback is invaluable in making sure the game remains fun and safe for everyone. 4. Open Communication: I encourage open communication at all times. If something bothers you or if you have suggestions on how to improve the game, please let me know.
