In this case the population of Golarian has depleted greatly a combination of high mortality, rampant societal collapse and exodus of millions of people across the world leaving Golarian in a pre apocalyptic state everyone going crazy searching and killing for a way out or succumbing to the sorrow of the end approaching. What has advanced Due to the disruption of healing magic and the outright disfunction of resurrection magic new pathways have developed in the intervening years some less clean then others. Cloning in lou of actual raising of one’s death has been the replacement and this has given rise to a host of ethical and existential schools of thought and the increase of the immortality school of magic.
