About the adventure
Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden is a Dungeons & Dragons adventure set in the frozen lands of Icewind Dale. It is designed for characters starting at level 1 and can take them up to about level 12. The adventure is structured like a sandbox, allowing players to choose where they go and what quests to pursue. This adventure is good for groups who like survival themes, mystery, and a bit of horror. Players will face tough decisions, dangerous enemies, and challenges from the cold environment itself. The people of Ten-Towns are struggling, and the party can choose to help them or focus on their own goals. The setting is Icewind Dale, a harsh tundra locked in never-ending winter. The goddess Auril the Frostmaiden has cast powerful magic to keep the land in darkness and cold. The towns are isolated, with food running low and fear spreading as the unnatural winter continues. Overall, Rime of the Frostmaiden is a dark, atmospheric campaign about survival and uncovering secrets. It suits players who enjoy exploration, danger, and moral choices in a cold and unforgiving world.

About me
Hi, I’m Connor! I’ve been running Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition for over 6 years, and it’s easily my favorite game in the world. I run weekly homebrew campaigns and have GMed for friends, family, and players at game stores — building immersive worlds and exciting stories every step of the way. I love creating engaging roleplay moments, challenging combat encounters, and voices for NPCs (I try but I'm not perfect). My games emphasize creativity — I encourage players to think outside the box and come up with clever solutions to problems, whether through smart tactics or wild ideas. Whether you're a seasoned player or brand new to the game, you're welcome at my table. You don’t need to know every rule — I’m happy to teach and support new players so everyone can enjoy and learn the best game ever.

Be sure to label it with the date and title of the game it’s for, so I can review it in advance.

What Connor brings to the table
I mostly stick to the official rules when I DM, just to keep things fair and consistent but if something doesn’t quite make sense or a cool idea comes up, I’m open to bending the rules a bit to keep things fun. I enjoy doing voices for my npc's and will throw them in when I can. Overall, I aim to keep the game smooth, fun, and clear. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just here to try something new.
Homebrew rules
When drinking a Healing Poition, in my games, you can either roll for it on a bonus action or get the max amount of healing for using your action.

How Connor creates a safe table
Welcome to the Icewind Dale. Before we begin, I want to give you a quick overview of what to expect. This is a survival and light horror world. It has interactive quests, moral choices and savage expanse of the icy tuntra. While the rules will mostly follow the book (Rules as Written), I’ll occasionally bend something if it makes sense for the game. You don’t need to be a rules expert — I’ll help as we go. Combat will be dangerous, and character death is a real possibility, so smart choices and teamwork are key. Please make characters who are willing to engage with the story, even if they’re reluctant heroes. We’ll be using the session 0 (30mins+ dependant on needs of the players) to make sure everyone is comfortable with the content. No PvP or aggressive behavior — we’re here to enjoy the story together, not argue over rules or fight out-of-character. If you ever feel uncomfortable, speak up or send me a private message. We’ll likely be starting at level 1 and I’ll guide you through character creation if needed. Expect a blend of exploration, tactical combat, and character-driven roleplay. If you have any questions, concerns, or just want help with your character sheet, reach out on Discord. Let’s end this eternal winter!
