Strixhaven; Heavy RP and Homebrew
Welcome to Strixhaven University, the premier magical institution in the World. Nestled within a secluded, enchanted valley near King's Warf.
About the adventure
Strixhaven is home to five colleges, each dedicated to unique aspects of magic, knowledge, and wonder. Every college fosters a distinct magical philosophy, producing scholars, adventurers, and spellcasters with diverse talents. But within these hallowed halls, secrets linger, hidden within the twisting corridors of the Biblioplex library, concealed in enchanted spellbooks, and whispered in the shadows. The Five Colleges of Strixhaven: Lorehold: The College of Archaeomancy, dedicated to history and the spirits of the past. Students here are passionate about understanding ancient secrets, artifacts, and the echoes of the past that can inform the future. Prismari: The College of Elemental Arts, where magic meets creativity. Students combine art and magic, weaving spells with movements, songs, and creative expressions to create breathtaking displays and fearsome attacks. Quandrix: The College of Numeromancy, where logic, mathematics, and magic blend. Quandrix students study arcane formulas and sacred geometry to shape the very fabric of reality itself. Silverquill: The College of Eloquence, masters of rhetoric, charm, and persuasive spells. Silverquill students wield words as weapons, both in debates and in combat. Witherbloom: The College of Life and Death, where students study the balance between decay and growth. Witherbloom mages learn about the cycle of life and manipulate vitality and death with ease. Beyond the college courses and campus life, Strixhaven is not all academic tranquility. Secret societies, hidden passageways, and magical mishaps give rise to adventure, intrigue, and peril. The Oriq, a clandestine cult seeking to exploit the university's magic for nefarious purposes, lurk in the shadows, ready to recruit disillusioned students or steal powerful artifacts. As a student, your journey through Strixhaven will involve study, camaraderie, and exploration. You’ll encounter rivalries, form friendships, face academic challenges, and possibly uncover ancient prophecies and forbidden spells. Will you become a star student, unearth hidden secrets, or perhaps rise to defend Strixhaven from lurking dangers? The choice is yours! King's Warf has 3 main noble households: Marquis Brune, Duke Wildemere, and Duke Melentor. Everyone knows the children of these households have started Strixhaven. Perhaps you're friends with the devout cleric Rosemarie Brune, or grew up doing theatre with Quentillius Antiphian Melentor III, or are you studying and rubbing elbows with the pretentious wizard Grayson Wildemere. Are you an heir to the crown? A commoner who worked hard or just got lucky with their entrance exam? Welcome to Strixhaven, where magic is limitless, and the future is unwritten. This game is designed for players who love to get into character and roleplay, fleshed-out NPCs in a living, breathing setting, and solving mysteries.

About me
I've been playing DnD for 12 years, and DMing for the past 5years. I am extremely laid back and value the group's fun over adherence to the rules. I love writing and developing stories for my players to feel like the heroes of an adventure or the misfortunate adventurers that fate had thrust a grand plan on - whatever the players ask for out of their games.

Character creation
Creating your character
Come with a character concept, I will organise a private session 0 with you so we can develop your character's background to fit seamlessly into the world and story! We will be rolling stats using my custom macro which re-rolls 1s and 2s giving you above average stats! you were accepted to a prestigious magic academy after all. We are using 2014 rules and Roll20.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Discord and Roll20 account are required for this game. You will be invited to a private Discord server for the campaign where we will play sessions over voice, and roleplay (as much or as little as you would like) throughout the week via text channels.
What Lilly brings to the table
I run games using Roll20 Pro, which allows me to provide dynamically lit battle maps for immersive, tactical encounters. I also make use of API scripts to streamline combat, automate conditions, and keep sessions running smoothly. Players have access to a wide range of shared Roll20 compendium content for character creation and reference, making it easy to build and grow your character right on the platform. As a GM, I take a collaborative, story-first approach that thrives on improvisation and player creativity. I’m a strong believer in the Rule of Cool and “yes, and” if you have a wild idea, I’ll work with you to make it awesome. I run a persistent world where roleplay doesn’t stop at the end of the session. The server is open for roleplay 24/7, and I’m frequently available to step into NPC roles for text-based mini-sessions between main games. These smaller interactions often explore character-specific plotlines, give space for personal development, or uncover secrets in the world. The setting is my original world, Combreux, where you’re currently adventuring in the country of Tarverheim. It’s a rich, politically complex region where a living world unfolds around you. Every NPC has their own goals, values, and motivations, they react dynamically to player actions and to one another. The main plot is deeply shaped by your characters’ backstories, and I take care to weave your histories and relationships into the central narrative. You are not just travelers in a story, you are the story’s beating heart. My games blend high roleplay with meaningful consequences, immersive worldbuilding, and evolving political subplots for those who want to dig deeper. While I enjoy tactical combat, I’m not a rules lawyer; I prioritize flow and fun over strict adherence to RAW. Whether you want daring heroics, heartfelt character arcs, or tense moral decisions, my aim is to give you a stage to shine on. As part of the cost of my games, I include custom art for each player. After Session 0, you'll receive a basic portrait of your character, and for every 5 sessions we complete (one per ingame year), I’ll draw a full illustration of an important scene of your choice featuring your character. It’s my way of celebrating your journey and bringing your story to life visually.
Homebrew rules
- Drinking a potion is a bonus action, feeding a potion is an action - Free lvl 1 feat - Crictical hits = automatic max damage + rolled damage - Altered Death Rules: If a character drops to exactly 0 HP, they fall unconscious but are stable, no death saving throws required. If they continue to take damage while unconscious, that damage is tracked as negative HP rather than automatic death save failures. If the character's negative HP ever equals their maximum HP (e.g. a character with 32 max HP reaching -32), they die instantly. This gives unconscious characters more durability, effectively doubling their threshold before instant death

How Lilly creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are top priorities at my table. During our private Session 0, I’ll ask each player to share their personal Lines and Veils, which I will then anonymously compile and post in the Discord’s rules channel so that everyone is informed and boundaries are respected without revealing anyone's identity. We’ll also discuss tone, expectations, preferred playstyles, and any triggers to avoid, ensuring everyone starts on the same page. Throughout gameplay, I use X, N, and O cards integrated into Roll20. These appear at the bottom right of the screen and can be clicked at any time if something needs to pause, shift, or continue. You’re also welcome to message me privately at any point if you'd prefer to remain completely anonymous when raising a concern. After intense scenes or emotional sessions, I check in with players either in voice or via direct message to provide aftercare and space to decompress. I strive to create an open, communicative, and consent-based environment where everyone feels heard, safe, and supported, whether you're facing dragons or deep character moments.
