About the adventure

All you need is a PC, mic, a Roll20 VTT account and a webcam (if you prefer) šŸ§™ For Session 0 All you need is a character concept and, if possible, a quick skim of the rules—that’s it! What I Bring to the Table: šŸŽ² Demiplane Access Seamless character creation with official Daggerheart tools—easy, intuitive, and fully supported. 🧠 Support for New Players No experience? No problem. I offer a welcoming space with patient guidance—just bring your curiosity! šŸŽ Roleplay-Driven Storytelling Your character’s choices matter. The story evolves based on what you do. 🌟 Rule of Cool If it’s awesome and fits the story, let’s find a way to make it happen. šŸ—ŗļø Immersive Visuals Custom maps and key NPC visuals to bring the world to life and make exploration feel vivid and real. If you’re drawn to... šŸ”¹ Deep, character-driven storytelling šŸ”¹ Building the world together through shared imagination šŸ”¹ Fast-paced, cinematic, high-stakes combat …then you’re going to love Daggerheart. This bold new TTRPG system is crafted for collaborative storytelling, dramatic twists, heroic moments, and emotional depth. It captures everything that makes roleplaying unforgettable. Don’t miss your chance to dive into an epic Daggerheart adventure — reserve your spot now! āš”ļø What to Expect in This Daggerheart One-Shot Tone: A blend of eerie mystery and heroic resolve, this one-shot leans into dark fantasy and celestial horror, with themes of corruption, sacrifice, and lost knowledge. Expect emotional choices, unsettling encounters, and the chance to make meaningful impact. Setting: Set in the forested outskirts of a starlit world, the adventure moves from a quiet, ashen village to haunted woods and a shattered crater beneath a dying star. The world blends ancient magic, forgotten pacts, and strange celestial forces. Core Mechanics: Daggerheart uses the duality d12 system—you roll one Hope die and one Fear die to resolve actions. Traits, Domains, and your Archetype help define how you engage with the world. Combat is fast-paced, with a focus on narrative stakes, and characters gain Hope or Fear depending on their choices and outcomes. What Makes It Unique: This story revolves around a cosmic threat and a choice between sealing or confronting an ancient power. You'll uncover lost truths, protect the remnants of a dying village, and decide whether you're the kind of hero who preserves the balance or rewrites it. Roleplay, tactical decisions, and evocative storytelling all have equal weight.

About me

Looking for a GM to take your game to the next level? Look no further. My name is Joey. I've been playing TTRPGs for over 27 years and a DM for friends and family over a variety of fantasy settings and games since 2003. I'm an avid fan of D&D literature and have read many amazing works from R.A. Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, and many others that serve as fuel for my encounters, blueprints for combat sequences, and inspiration for my plot points. Whether you're a fan of smashing things with a hammer until gold comes out of their ears or solving intricate puzzles/investigating mysteries, I'm here to deliver a thought provoking experience that is best accomplished with teamwork and the Rule of Cool. I'm an IT and Cybersecurity Major, and also have quite a deal of experience with Audio/Visual work. I enjoy curating beautifully crafted digital maps, evocative background music and ambiences, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to fill in gaps (my artistic ability šŸ™ƒ) and bring my stories to life. I've been playing Daggerheart for my in-person group and I'm loving the collaborative storytelling approach. It is now my preferred system to run games on!

What AVALANCHE brings to the table

I like to think of myself as a little bit of a chameleon - no two groups are the same, so my DM style is very fluid and loose to fit the wants and needs of my players. I love utilizing ambient music via Spotify Premium Party play or Roll20's Jukebox (an additional audio source is recommended, such as a tablet, phone or separate speaker). Full control of the ambience is in your hand. I'm a fair voice actor, definitely no Matthew Mercer, but I can do Stewie Griffin's voice all night long if that's what you're lookin' for Brian. Players can expect curated, dynamic, and challenging objective-based combat experiences. That's my sentence about how boring I think whittling away at each others HP can be. I'm a Rule of Cool guy, but I've been playing TTRPGs since George Bush Jr. was in office. As fun as it is to be a rules lawyer, if something falls outside of my knowledge base, I'm not here to fight with anyone.

Safety

How AVALANCHE creates a safe table

The content warnings primarily reflect the consequences of a world where death is no longer possible. These themes are rarely, if ever, portrayed in a glorified way. If any of the listed content warnings raise concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Many of these elements can be handled vaguely or omitted entirely, depending on your comfort level. If a particular warning is critical to the story and cannot be removed, I will be transparent about it. Should that cause discomfort or make you feel unsafe, we can explore options to accommodate your needs. XNO Messaging or Held Up On Video. Lines and Veils doc discussed at Session 1
