About the adventure

This is an Age of Umbra survival game where the goal will be to build up your settlement as a group, uncover ruins with helpful gear and tools from the Old World, assign NPCs to vital roles, and above all else: Protect. The. Pyre. Create a settlement on the map collaboratively with your fellow players. Name NPCs and locations within the world, and help flesh out the Halcyon Domain in a FREE Session 0 where we will create your characters' home. The campaign will revolve around your decisions that effect the settlement. While you prepare and bolster your defenses, the ever present threat looms over you and will attack the settlement in various ways. The style is reminiscent of survival video games with similar goals like surviving waves of enemies while building up a home base. This is intended to be as close to a "sandbox" game as I'm willing to go, without a central "plot," but a more character focused, intimate look at the lives of the Enduring. The Age of Umbra is a dark toned setting with themes of survival, desperation, and clinging to hope. I am a more light-hearted DM but I love gothic and even cosmic horror elements of this world. Bring a mix of dark ambition and light curiosity to the game. The Session 0 is FREE! The price is set to pay for maps and subscriptions to make the game as cinematic and visually pleasing as possible. The price is also my commitment to you, the players, to making the game as fun as possible. If I don't earn that money, I'll return it, and you get to decide that. This is a Level 1 Daggerheart Campaign so zero experience required obviously. If you're lucky, your character might make to level 2. It should go without saying that your character very well might die, so be prepared for that but let's try to have a good time too! Bring your best Dark Souls character and dodge roll your way to victory lol! Let's have some fun in a dark setting. DISCOUNTS: - The first *3 people* to join will receive a $5 discount to their sessions! - If you bring 1 or more friends you will receive a $5 discount! - If you want to provide art for the game you will receive a $5 discount (artists will need to be vetted for both quality and vibes)! - If you join 1 or more other games of mine you will receive a $5 discount (this discount may be stacked with 1 other discount)! Players may not benefit from more than 1 discount each.

About me

I've been a GM for many different types of games over the past 12 years. My bread and butter is D&D 5e but I've also run Daggerheart, Avatar Legends, Stars Without Number, Shadowrun, Deadlands, Wildsea, and others. I'm super easy going, love crafting collaborative stories with awesome character arcs but also love to just goof off and have a good time. I pride myself on being flexible. Whether you like tactical combat, roleplay, or exploring an indepth world, I will match your energy with a vengeance. You also might call me a slightly "evil" GM, because I make my players very powerful... so that I don't feel bad for not pulling any punches! Mwuahahaha!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a mic, Discord, Demiplane, and Roll20 accounts ready for play. Have a copy of the rules.

What Dimitri brings to the table

The game will be heavy in the combat and roleplay, because you're maintaining a settlement and fighting off threats, but there will be a fair amount of exploration as well. Since this is a new game, I'd like to stick to the rules of the game as much as possible but I'll always be a Rule of Cool kind of GM. I will provide the content sharing, the map, and the danger. I use czepeku and other high quality maps, along with music, and tokens.

Homebrew rules

I have a Homebrew Necromancer Class if interested.
