About the adventure

In the wake of unspeakable devastation and the irreversible transformation of the world, Nerath stands as a haunting testament to the relentless forces of death and destruction. Once familiar landscapes now teem with abominations, abjurations, fey, fiends, and all manner of monstrous beings. The kingdom of Harkenwold, nestled in the heart of the Nentir Vale, was the epicenter of the cataclysmic event known as the "Great Rift," a gaping maw that tore open the fabric of reality, giving birth to nightmarish horrors. Miraculously, the Great Rift was sealed shut a mere three years ago, but the remnants of the shattered world have since opened their eyes to their greatest asset: each other. In the sprawling Southern Empires, now called Rundar Undivver, kingdoms are springing forth to tackle the overwhelming challenges brought about by overpopulation. A single port-side city strains under the weight of its inhabitants, necessitating the establishment of new settlements and the summoning of courageous adventurers to explore uncharted lands. Within this campaign, a realm in flux, you will wield the power to shape the destiny of the world. Will you answer the call of a noble Lord seeking intrepid scouts to chart the perilous unknown? Perhaps you will rise as a fearsome monster hunter, stalking the twisted creatures that haunt the fringes of civilization. Or maybe your path lies in safeguarding the fledgling settlements, defending their fragile existence against the encroaching darkness. But heed my words, for these quests are not for the faint of heart. Magical secrets of unimaginable magnitude lie hidden, waiting to be unearthed by those bold enough to venture forth. The question that lingers in the air, heavy with anticipation, is this: Do you possess the indomitable spirit, unyielding courage, and unwavering determination to traverse the treacherous paths that await you? Prepare yourselves, for destiny beckons, and the fate of a fractured world rests in your hands. Will you rise to the challenge and carve your legend upon the annals of history? The answers lie within you. Now, let the adventure begin.

About me

Greetings, fellow adventurers! I am Kiefer Seeley, a seasoned Game Master, talented voice actor, and devout follower of Christ. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance! From an early age, I was fortunate to be encouraged to unleash my imagination and nurture my creativity through play. Whether engaging in epic battles against invisible monsters or embracing the thrill of superhuman speed, these childhood adventures laid the foundation for my profound passion for the realm of fantasy. Through the guidance of my faith, this passion has led me to my current role as a Super-Hero! I have the privilege of hosting parties as various heroes or mascots, such as Batman, Spiderman, a minion, a pup from Paw Patrol, and many more! During my free time, you can often find me immersed in games like Civilization 6, Frostpunk, and Overwatch, or preparing for exhilarating Dungeons and Dragons campaigns as either a player or a game master. Beyond my love for the fantastical, I am also a devoted lover of animals. With extensive experience in raising pets and delving into their nature and behaviors, I have developed a profound understanding of our furry companions. Currently, I am the proud owner of two cats who regularly bless our family with adorable kittens before finding them suitable forever homes. Alongside my affinity for animals, I have a natural affinity for children as well. Being the eldest of five siblings and actively volunteering in various kids ministries, I have honed my patience and forged meaningful relationships with individuals of all ages. I am eager and excited to embark on this adventure together with all of you. Let us delve into the vast realms of imagination and create unforgettable stories and experiences that will leave us inspired and enthralled. May our journey be filled with joy, camaraderie, and the endless wonders that await us!

Character creation

Creating your character

New players will be briefed on party composition. This world runs adjacent to up to three ongoing campaigns; your session party determined by day of the week. You will have the option to do a session 0 with me one-on-on to help develop your character and plot out your place in the world. This is quite flexible. I am willing to go over chat and discussions through DM about any questions or ideas. Official content only. This includes any official released WoC campaigns. No UA. I have most of WoC books downloaded on Roll 20 and so a large selection of races and sub-classes are available. Pre-programed selections helps the flow of gameplay. Roll for stats. Roll 2 sets, choose either. Roll 1 bonus stat, with option to replace a stat for either set. Feel free to message me on Discord for more details.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a mic available for every session. I need to be able to hear you to effectively involve you in the game. Silent messages often go unnoticed. Please have a Roll 20 profile as well as a Discord profile, as these will be the main platforms. Please mute yourself on Roll 20, we will use Discord to chat. When creating a character on Roll 20, go to the journal and find your name. Make sure to click "Charectermancer" and select from the given options. There should be no need for manual input, with the exception of personality/ideals/bonds/flaws. Elemental Evil is another exception, as some races from this book are not programmed into Roll20. A picture of your character. Please find something from a fantasy/realistic setting. Preferably not hero's forge unless we all decide to go live. For newer players, I will guide you through each step. Just come prepared with an idea of what kind of character you would like to play, and an image to represent them. I will create your token and, if required, guide you through the charactermancer.

What Kiefer brings to the table

Most items and spells in 5e will be available to drag drop into your character sheet, saving precious minuets of game play and inventory management. I have invested in various maps, tokens and the Pro subscription for Roll 20. Prepared maps may include: Dynamic lighting, music, animated effects. Character tokens will be in token shape. You provide me with a picture, I'll make it a token. Voice acting. I have voice acting training as well as a free spirit to really immerse myself into a roll. I may bark, yell, sing, act crazy or totally stoic. Discord Personalization. I will have various images of maps of the world, landscapes, NPCs and potentially a job board for characters to interact with. Each character will have their own personal page to decorate, or journal in. I will also provide a brief recap in text formation after every session.

Homebrew rules

- Falling damage dice has been increaced to represent terminal velocity. - A charecter adjacent to another may use a reaction to catch a falling creature, with growing DC baced on hight.

How Kiefer creates a safe table

PG14 While my design is to keep things as realistic as possible in a fantasy setting, I do not want to go into grotesque detail. Think of "The Avengers" level of violence and trauma. Session 0 is optional, though recommended. Session "0" will be a one-on-one to go over character backstory, details, figure out your overall placement and ambitions in the world. Session 0.5 is more mandatory, where we will go over Lines and Veils over chat, as well as a small portion of game play, to get the party together. A good time to trouble shoot over any digital issues that may occur, so future sessions can run more smoothly. For newer players, a one-on-one session 0 is highly recommended, as I will guide you through game mechanics both with D&D and Roll 20. I will also quickly go over rules, lines, vails and expectations at the beginning of a session anytime we get a new player. Less mandatory if the entire group is new, in which case we will all patiently learn together!
