About the adventure
Myths of Aldmora: The Wild Beyond The Witchlight The Witchlight. Faerûn. Toril. You know the story—until now. But what if Faerûn wasn’t on Toril? What if something happened—something so massive, so reality-shattering, that entire worlds collapsed in on themselves like dying stars? What if the planes merged, myth devoured myth, and lands long divided by realms or even franchises found themselves breathing the same sky? Welcome to Aldmora—a world born from ruin, welded together by fate, magic, and narrative gravity. A plane where collapsed timelines and conflicting legends nest together like paper cranes in a storm. Here, you’ll find Tamriel, cradle of prophecy and dragonfire, drifting beside Faerûn, brimming with old magic. To the west lies Xion, where gods walk among mortals and war is written in the stone. Aurora, the desert continent, burns beneath prophetic stars. And far to the north, Tritesh groans under the weight of mountain-sized ruins—the ancestral birthplace of the giants and the original homeland of the dwarves of Meridian. In this merged world, the Witchlight Carnival returns—traveling not just between the Material Plane and the Feywild, but between entire histories. A timeless fair where whimsy is currency, and sorrow rides the tilt-a-whirl beside laughter. A place where children go missing not because they’re taken, but because they gave something up without realizing it—and heroes follow, not for gold or glory, but for closure, memory, or something beautifully broken. This is The Wild Beyond the Witchlight—but filtered through the surreal lens of Aldmora. The adventure is full of charming absurdity, strange bargains, talking animals, and crooked shadows. It rewards creativity over violence, and favors cleverness, compassion, and curiosity. The carnival is just the beginning: beyond its glowing lights lie the disjointed domains of Prismeer, reshaped by Aldmora’s conflicting memories. New to D&D? You’re in the right place. This campaign is perfect for beginners, with patient, story-first gameplay that eases players into rules without overwhelming. Returning veteran? You’ll find emotional depth, narrative twists, and enough lore to dig into for ages. The goal is collaborative storytelling—equal parts silly, sweet, and strikingly sincere. Combat happens, but rarely without weight. If you’re looking for a tale that feels like a bedtime story told by candlelight, with a twist of melancholy and magic, you’re home. Step right up, traveler. The carnival awaits.

About me
Hey Guys! I'm Jacen, I am a 27-Year-old student/aspiring Teacher. I was born and raised in Oregon and Washington. I grew up loving fantasy and Sci-fi, playing Video Games, and reading a ton of books. Today, I’m a dedicated storyteller and game master with three years of DM experience and five years of involvement in tabletop RPGs. I began my journey with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, first as a player in a long-running campaign with close friends. Those early sessions ignited a love for collaborative storytelling and character-driven narratives, eventually inspiring me to step behind the screen. Since then, I’ve been running The Quiet Year, a rich, homebrew campaign that has grown into an expansive fantasy saga filled with political intrigue, generational legacies, and deeply personal player arcs. As a DM, I prioritize immersion, emotional storytelling, and player agency, I love weaving character choices directly into the fabric of the world, watching it evolve alongside the party. My background as a writer and educator also influences my approach, helping me create inclusive spaces where players feel safe, seen, and empowered to explore their stories. I’ve had the privilege of guiding both new and veteran players through high-stakes encounters, heartfelt moments, and everything in between. For me, tabletop RPGs are more than just games, they’re a powerful form of creative expression, connection, and community-building.

Creating your character
Character Sheets should be made through DnD Beyond, which I will then transfer to Foundry VTT. All Core DnD 5e Books are fair game. Homebrewed Content is also allowed. Homebrew Races and Classes must be approved by me during Session 0, again, I rarely say No outright, this is mainly to make sure characters fit within Aldmora. Also, to make sure players aren't too overpowered, usually I will just abilities and powers, instead of denying them.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All Players should have a Discord account. My games will mainly be run through a mix of Foundry VTT and Discord. I have experience with Roll20 but prefer Foundry. Links to both the Myths of Aldmora Discord Server and Foundry server will be shared in Session 0.
What Jacen brings to the table
At my table, you're not just another adventurer—you’re a co-author in a living, breathing myth. Whether you're a total newbie or a dice-slinging veteran, you'll find a space that champions your creativity, your comfort, and your character’s wildest dreams. We’re here to tell stories, make mistakes, feel feelings, and sometimes fight frogs with knives. As your Game Master, I bring an immersive, story-driven style with a healthy dose of whimsy and heart. Expect character voices for NPCs (some dramatic, some absurd), ambient music and soundscapes to set the mood, and scenes designed to spotlight your character’s arc, flaws, and triumphs. I aim for games that feel cinematic and character-rich—where your choices shape the world around you. Gameplay at my table strikes a balance between narrative and mechanics. I lean into Rule of Cool when it enhances the story, but I’m grounded in Rules as Written for fairness, clarity, and player trust. Combat is meaningful and plot-connected—but every now and then, you'll get a random encounter to shake things up, showcase a new region, or build tension. They’re rare, but intentional, and always designed to feel like part of the living world. You can expect: Collaborative roleplay and emotionally grounded storytelling Music, ambiance, and voice acting to bring the world to life Puzzles, moral dilemmas, social intrigue, and occasional chaos Combat with purpose—sometimes random, always exciting A safe, inclusive space with regular check-ins and optional safety tools Recaps, visual references, and worldbuilding you can invest in I love seeing players surprise me. I reward bold ideas, flawed heroes, and characters with big feelings and weird goals. If you’re here to get messy, explore wonder, and build a story worth remembering, then welcome to Aldmora. Let’s make magic.
Homebrew rules

How Jacen creates a safe table
Your comfort and enjoyment are my top priority. I believe great stories are built on trust, respect, and enthusiastic participation—so I take safety and communication seriously at my table. Before Session 1, all players will receive a Lines & Veils document via Google Forms to fill out privately. This lets you identify topics you'd prefer to keep off the table entirely (Lines) or topics that are okay in the world but not described in detail (Veils). I also include a Stars & Wishes section to learn what kind of content excites you—so I can craft a world where you feel welcome, engaged, and empowered. We’ll start with a dedicated Session 0, where we’ll go over: Group expectations and tone Lines & Veils summary (anonymized) Game themes and content warnings Scheduling and tech needs How we handle interruptions, pacing, and emotional check-ins Character creation as a group (to build shared connections) During the game, I use the X, N, & O system: X = “Stop immediately.” (In text chat, or said aloud.) N = “I’m not comfortable with this direction, let’s pivot.” O = “I’m good, keep going!” (Also used for emotional check-ins.) These signals can be typed in chat, said aloud, or used with camera gestures if you’re on video. You’re always welcome to message me privately if you’re unsure or want to address something between sessions. After each session, we’ll take a few minutes of aftercare—a relaxed cooldown to check in, share highlights, decompress intense scenes, and make sure everyone’s leaving the game feeling good. This table is a space for collaborative joy and imaginative play. All players are expected to treat one another with respect, kindness, and open-hearted generosity. Big feelings, silly moments, and emotional arcs are all welcome—but only with mutual trust and enthusiastic consent. If you’re new to safety tools or just returning to TTRPGs, don’t worry—I’ll walk you through every step. Let’s tell a story where everyone feels safe being heroic, messy, clever, and human(or other fantastical race).
