About me

Hi there! I’m Allen, and I’ve been running D&D 5.5e campaigns for quite a while now. I fell in love with the game’s unique ability to tell stories in such a dynamic and immersive way, which led me to dive deep into the world of TTRPG podcasts. Some of my favorites are *Worlds Beyond Number*, *NADDPOD*, and *Dimension 20*, which inspire me to craft epic adventures of my own. I’m also eager to explore other game systems like *Call of Cthulhu* and *Monster of the Week*, and I’m always looking for new ways to challenge both myself and my players. I’m most at home in my homebrew world, Primordia—a place ravaged by a massive magical explosion centuries ago. Players find themselves unearthing ancient mysteries as they navigate a world still rebuilding from the devastation. The rich history and untold stories of Primordia are at the heart of my campaigns, and I pride myself on my ability to improvise and come up with unique, engaging storylines for my players to experience. When I’m not running TTRPGs, you’ll find me enjoying baseball. My goal is to visit all 30 Major League ballparks—I’ve made it to 15 so far, and my team is the Cincinnati Reds! I’m also an avid gardener and have been working to transform my front lawn into a lush space full of native plants. It’s a project I’m passionate about, and I love watching it come to life. I can’t wait to share more of my world with you—let’s roll some dice and make some memories!

I played a one-shot with Allen and had a great time. Allen makes sure everyone has a great time, is very inclusive and encouraging. Would play at his table again anytime!

Allen is great and our group always has a blast when he leads our adventures. He goes the extra mile to make sure the story is immersive, including character and scene development, voices, background music, and more. He's great at explaining the rules to newbies, while also clarifying mechanics and adapting play to suit all players. The adventures he leads are top-notch, fun, and keep you on your toes; and he is a fair and reasonable GM, so all players have a great time, learn, and feel included. He rolls with the unexpected and always finds the fun in a player's unexpected action. I'm always excited to join when Allen is the GM!

When I first started in a campaign with Allen as GM, I was pretty much a newbie to D&D and had some anxiety around how to play - having a GM like Allen literally changed my attitude about D&D as a whole. He gave me the confidence to play the game AND enabled me to have a huge amount of fun while doing so. He brings energy, fairness, pizzazz, and more to the game, and goes the extra mile to make you feel like you're immersed in the world of the game. From my experience as more of a novice to the broader levels of experience of other players in our campaign, Allen really knows how to blend a group together and ensure everyone is on the same playing field. If you're looking for an incredible GM, literally look no further. Allen is it.

I've played several one-shots at various levels GMed by Allen, and they have been some of my favorite D&D experiences. He's always engaging, flexible, and creative. His game knowledge is seemingly encyclopedic, and...oh my gosh, the visuals! With Allen, you're going to feel like you really earned your victory after a fresh and imaginative encounter, and you're going to have a LOT of fun along the way.

Allen was a fantastic GM. We were newer players and hadn't played a traditional tabletop RPG before. Allen was very patient with rules questions and knew them well. Most of all, Allen is just a great host and makes sure everyone is having a good time. He is super funny, personable, and tries to include everyone without being pushy. I would play in one of Allen's games anytime!

Character creation
Creating your character

PC's will start at level 5. Homebrew and UA are allowed but must be approved by the GM. Players will be responsible for creating their own characters. Roll20 character sheets can be provide should the players wish to be able to use their sheets digitally. The Chrome extension 'Beyond20' can also be used to link a DND Beyond character sheet to Roll20. Character stats can be determined by the standard array or a point buy system.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

I will send you a link to the discord where the Roll20 link is posted. There you can ask any questions you may have about the setting or character creation. We will be using Roll20 for maps and Discord for the audio and (optional) video

What Allen brings to the table

I will have the maps uploaded to Roll20 as well as any character tokens necessary to play. Should you wish to provide your own character token feel free to do so.

How Allen creates a safe table

I like to go by the rule of cool so if there is something you want to try just let me know, we'll try to make it happen. My goal is to create a story where the PCs feel like they accomplished something while being a badass.
