About the adventure
Join an elite military platoon to fight behind enemy lines in a desperate last-ditch effort to end the war! Invading elves and their followers from accross the ocean have laid waste to the Western coast of your homeland of Therah, and their armies seem to keep coming, forcing the scattered nations, kingdoms, and tribes of Therah to unite against these strange fey-like invaders. You are your party are elite members of a military unit fighting back against these invaders, trapped behind enemy lines after a disastrous loss, with a slim hope of taking the war into your own hands and ending it for good. In this campaign, you’ll have the chance to: -Survive off the land as you travel under the noses of enemy troops. -Strike vital military targets and supply lines to hamper the Elven forces and perhaps gain some of their resources for yourselves. -Free prisoners of war to grow your platoon, gathering allies who will travel with you and join the fight. -Foment resistance and rebellion in occupied lands, and perhaps even in the Elven homeland itself. -Fight using guerilla tactics, setting ambushes and traps as you fight an enemy that far outnumbers you in epic battles across all sorts of terrain. -Use homebrew abilities granted to you by your rank and role within the platoon.

About me
I'm a writer and teacher from the US, now living in Spain. I've been GMing various TTRPGs for over 20 years. I love worldbuilding and crafting stories around my players' characters and the choices they make in-game. I make a special effort to make my games safe and inclusive spaces where we can tell immersive stories together.

Creating your character
The characters will start at level 6, and will be created (or at least concieved) together in discord chat and during session 0 in Roll20, using the Point Buy system for attributes. Most official published D&D 5e (2014) content will be allowed in the game as player options, though there will be a set of recommended races/ancestries that have a more direct connection to the immediate setting. Third party options may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. For new players, I will happily walk them through the process, up to and including building a character for them myself based on a few questions I ask.
We've got a healer Druid, a Barbarian/Rogue, an archer Ranger, and a dexy Fighter. Could use an offensive caster, but all builds are welcome!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a computer, a mic, and accounts on Roll20 and Discord. No dice or character sheets needed, as all will be handled digitally in roll20.

How Nik creates a safe table
I will send a survey to you that you can fill out in order for me to know your lines, veils, expectations, and interests before the session. We will discuss these things in session 0 as well, build your characters, and play an short opening session. Later sessions will start with a short chat, recap, and then we will get right into playing, with at least one 5-10 minute break. We will end the sessions with a small debriefing to check in on each other, talk about stars and wishes, and to plan what your characters want to do in the next session.
