About the adventure
A century has passed since the gods turned their gaze from the Halcyon Domain, casting the world into ruin. Now, shadow chokes the skies, monsters wear the faces of the dead, and the light of hope burns low. In the swamp-bound village of Okros, the nightly screams of a lost hunting party haunt the mist. The pyres still burn, but their flame cannot keep out what comes next. The Cradle Beneath the Pyre is a deadly, level 4 one-shot set in the Age of Umbra, a Daggerheart campaign of divine abandonment, creeping corruption, and cursed survival. You’ll begin with Tier 1 gear, limited supplies, and a dwindling flame of hope as you descend into the Shalk Chasm to uncover the fate of your kin and confront an ancient hunger long buried. This adventure is for players who enjoy grim fantasy, high-stakes decisions, and emotional roleplay. Death is not just possible it’s expected. But in death, stories linger. And sometimes, the soul fights back. You'll face grotesque, Umbra-Touched horrors, unravel the history of what fell, and stand against a towering abomination whose voice is made of [REDACTED]. You don’t need to be a Daggerheart expert, but a willingness to embrace character loss, moral ambiguity, and cinematic storytelling is essential. If you're drawn to games like Dark Souls, Blasphemous, or Berserk, this one-shot will feel like home. Light your torch. The dark remembers you.

How GM RiceKombo creates a safe table
To ensure everyone's comfort and safety during our game sessions, we employ several safety tools and practices. Here’s a breakdown of how we handle this: X, N, & O's: We use digital signals for our X (stop), N (pause or caution), and O (everything's okay) during the game. This can be through a private message to me or a signal in our group chat. It’s a discreet way to communicate comfort levels in real-time. Most Importantly I operate with an Open Door policy. I’m always open to feedback, whether about gameplay mechanics, narrative direction, or interpersonal dynamics. Let's keep the conversation open to ensure our game remains enjoyable and inclusive for all.
