About the adventure
A century has passed since the God-King Othedias betrayed the Pantheon, provoking divine punishment and abandonment by the gods that left the realm of the Halcyon Domain shattered, desolate, and eternally cursed. Throughout this shadow-choked land of decaying fortresses and dreadful monstrosities, surviving communities cling to hope in the face of lightless oblivion. In an Age of Umbra campaign, you’ll play heroic survivors who protect their community from the terrors beyond their walls, venture out into the unknown to hunt the nightmares that twist and grow with each fallen soul, seek answers to the curses that corrupt this world, and perhaps even discover a way to change its fate. About me
I have been playing D&D as a player and a DM for over twenty years. I have a passion for writing, storytelling, and fantasy games that I would love to share with others. I have experience as a Game Master for D&D 2nd, 3rd (3.5), 4th, and 5th Editions as well as Pathfinder 1st and 2nd Editions, many different variants of World of Darkness games (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Geist, and Hunter), several Star Wars systems, GURPS, and a pile of other Tabletop Roleplaying Games. My DMing style usually involves me learning about my player's characters and developing plots around them together with the player. As a result, my games are generally free-form, interactive, and personalized. I always ask that my players put thought and effort into their character's backgrounds, personalities, relations, and potential future plots/adventures. In turn, I take these elements and use them to build fun and exciting plotlines for your characters to experience! I have written and published a couple of novels based on some of the games I have run in the past and was once a co-writer for a locally-released D&D 3rd Edition adventure module. I have studied arts such as cinematography, graphic novels, storytelling structures, and many of the best writers/directors in history. As such, I am quite confident in my ability to tell fun and engaging stories, but am also happy to realize that I always have more room to learn and grow! I got into storytelling because my father was also an author. In fact, my first experience with stories and fantasy roleplaying was through my father DMing for me when I was a child. My first and favorite D&D character is my father's first and favorite character's son. The legacy I carry on through Atorian, son of Gaeleath, High Elf Bladesinger, Champion of Correllon Larethian, Defender of all Elves, began in the 1970's, long before I was born, when my father made his first character. The best moment I ever had in D&D was when my father's character passed his sword down to me. This is an extremely special bond I have with my father and D&D alike, and I can only hope I can recreate this sort of feeling on for other players to enjoy.

Creating your character
I will host a Session Zero to make sure everyone is on the same page with this new RPG, setting, and character creation process. I will share my demiplane account so players can access my rulebook and character sheets there.
This group has been going for about half a year, but an influx of new players has pushed for a hard reset of this game, so we don't overwhelm anyone with a ton of lore. Session Zero to be on the 14th or 21st of January with the first session being the week after that. Current party: Clank Seraph Giant Wizard Gnome Warrior
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord Voice. I will have a server to host this game on.
What Dan (AKA Sam) brings to the table
I have been running D&D, World of Darkness, and other various TTRPGs for about 25 years now. I intend to flex my love for gothic horror, storytelling, fantasy adventures, and RPGs for this game. I am still learning Daggerheart rules, but I like what I see so far and want to explore the game system and the unique settings and mechanics it has to offer, and I'm hoping I can find like-minded people to explore it with me! I will provide a Discord server for voice chat and setting/game information and share my account on Demiplane to provide the rulebook and character sheet information.
