About the adventure

A high fantasy game with D&D 5e rules in a homebrew setting that has more than 5 finished campaigns, filled cities, NPCs, artefacts and more. This game is suitable for players with all kinds of experience, from new players to experienced veterans, because we all share the same goal: Experience a magnificent story. Everforge is a universe where names mean something, where the oaths you take matter, villains are compelling and villains for a reason, symbolism is an important aspect and emotions are highly integrated into it. This game will be about the Hells, the sins and the devils themselves. In Everforge, unless a god protects them, every sinner finds its way in Hells. They are called devils thereafter and they do not remember their mortal lives. In our game, a devil is looking for some traces of his mortal life, trying to understand what sins he committed and how he ended up in Hells. The game deals with themes of sins and their consequences, as well as the human nature to err and heal. Are you ready to take your destiny in your own hands in a campaign that leads to the Hells? As players, you will start by finding traces that lead to a horrible crime related to devils and Hells. You will find yourselves in a place surrounded by mystery, sins and crimes. However, it may not be easy to differ the sinner from the victim. If you love high fantasy, great heroes, compelling villains, stories that feel personal and a chance to change the fate of the world, this is your story.

Game style

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Sandbox / Open World

In "Sandbox" or "Open World" games, players are given a tremendous amount of freedom to pursue their stories without the restrictions of a more linear game style. Players are encouraged to explore and engage with the world, and find their own story as they do so. These games offer the players the opportunity to help drive the narrative, and allow for the story to evolve organically through the choices they make.

How to prepare

Webcam and mic is a requirement, a roll20 account may also be necessary as I prefer to highlight combat encounters there for fair gameplay. I'd like for players to come to Session 0 with a character in mind and I can happily provide help with that selection. I prefer to have small backstories attached to them but they can be crafted between Session 0 and 1.

What I provide

I lean on role-playing. I have held game sessions that had zero combat, where character communications, story elements, world-building, shopping or a similar activity, or a philosophical conversation with a sage-king about power and magic that took about 2 hours. If this doesn’t sound good, I’ve also had sessions that were completely focused on intense combat that would decide the fate of the world.I try to listen to my players for their preferences but my style is mostly having all aspects of TTRPGs throughout a campaign. I mostly attempt to do voices of NPCs and use ambient music, especially for important moments. I'm usually in-character in that moment and what NPCs tell you are completely their ideas and thoughts. I do not give players out-of-game ideas or restrictions using an NPC. NPCs are treated like a real-world person would: They have a personality, opinions and ideas. It is up to you how to resonate with them. I do not have a set in stone story, my stories definitely involves you —your characters. They are the main elements to a changing world. If they do not interfere with the world around them, things will surely go to bad places, and things will be a lot worse.

Gameplay details

I'd like to set expectations before starting and open to any kind of feedback during or after the sessions. I will send out a form before the game to learn some of the expectations and will let my players know beforehand what this campaign might consist. During the games, I'd prefer messages from players if they feel uncomfortable for any reason and I believe communication is key in those moments. And after expectations set, I do not tolerate players who crosses lines.

How will character creation work

All character creation will be handled in a Session 0. I will let my players roll twice for their stats and reroll two 1s. I'm thinking to start at Level 3 but open to suggestions as well. Level 3 is a good starting point and where all subclasses are introduced. These books are legit: Player's Handbook (2024 but subclasses from 2014 are also allowed if they do not appear in 2024), Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and Historica Arcanum series (written by me). Subclasses, feats or spell from other official books or 3rd party books can be reviewed upon request.
