About me

Hi, I'm Zenny. I have been playing and dm'ing for a couple of years now and I wanted to share the creativity and fun I've found in the stories we've made to the world. One of the games I run for my friends became pretty successful and my players are always excited to see what I have in store for them. I've found a passion in creating stories and characters, and making my players feel immersed in this living breathing world, excited for adventure. And I want to bring that love to all of you. So I hope to see you at my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation can happen before or on session 0, either on a Roll20 sheet or a D&DBeyond sheet. We will be rolling for stats using our threshold on discord. We can help you with building your character even before session 0. The adventure is built around 2014 rules, but players are allowed to use 2024 rules to build their characters. We start at level 1, quickly level up every session to level 3, and then eventually level up to 15-20 depending on how the game goes.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make sure your microphone quality is relatively clear. Make sure you have a Discord and Roll20 account and keep an eye on your StartPlaying inbox where I'll message you to join a server and campaign. Have an idea ready of what you want your character to be like and what their motivations are.

What Zenny The Druid brings to the table

Everything is set up on Roll20, with dynamic lighting where necessary for an immersive dungeon crawling experience. We can help you with your character sheets and tokens. I prioritize player fun and I tailor my GM style to what seems like my players are having fun with, whether that's focusing on the combat challenges, roleplay and intrigue, or exploration and collecting. But as a baseline, personally, I think my GM style is just being ready for every outcome that my players could possibly do so I can allow them to do that without necessarily derailing my plans. I like to have conversations to know what my players want to do, and help them find a way to do it. I love doing character voices whenever possible. I have music and ambience playlists that I meticulously picked out myself to set the mood for the game that I play on discord for everyone. But it's also set up in a way that if a player wants to play their own music and ambience instead that they're allowed to do so. I like to balance the rule of cool and playing by the book for the fun of the players, but still keeping the experience fair. I like giving my players a challenge during combat but I make sure it's something they can handle, and when needed I can remind a player what they can do in the current situation to help them out.

Safety

How Zenny The Druid creates a safe table

This is a long campaign that could last a year or two. This game will be played on Roll20, using Discord for voice chat. Expect a balance between roleplay, combat, and exploration, but you may also voice the kind of balance you like in your games and we can accommodate to the group preference. In Session 0 we'll discuss player expectations and character creation, homebrew rules such as flanking, potion use, weapon changing, carry weight etc. We'll discuss rules that we are picky about and rules that we circumvent for fun. We'll also discuss the types of content players would rather not have in the game and the ways we can deal with potentially disturbing content.
